Convert to WHAT? Jesus didn't tell us to follow anybody but Himself. He said that if we do the Will of God, then we ALL are His mothers and his brothers. He said that blessed is he who "hears the word of God and obeys".

Is it the Will of God to believe in the One HE sent? Is it Jesus?

dsherek, has addressed your other points so i'll get down to what I want to ask. Would you display this same cynicism if the apparition at Fatima was Jesus instead of Mary, and instead of recommending the Rosary he prescribed some other less Marian prayer?

Thanks dscherck and SantoSubito for your knowledgeable support, and thanks to those that were welcoming in their remarks. I looked up Sola Scriptura and it explains a lot to me about where the majority of the participants are coming from here. We cannot deny that it was by the less than biblical and ideal practices of the Catholic church that led to the divisions in the first place. I have found a catholic community website but will stay on here too.

Catholics should see the vital need for the Solas at that time, and what they were specifically employed to address. Protestants need to realize every last detail related to ethics, morals, and culture can't be found directly spelled out in Scripture; and denominations have traditions of their own that take precedence over Scripture.

Jesus already did enough by sending the Holy Spirit to us.

He taught about signs and wonders. He didn't, though, tell us to bow before those signs and wonders. Mary was described as a sign (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:22-23)

Jesus just gave us our "marching orders" (as I call it) and gave us signs of His returning. Anything else is to distract His people from it.

We do believe in the one He sent. We believe in Jesus. We just don't happen to think that ignoring His mother is a good idea when our desire is to become ever closer to Him.

Somebody in Scripture tried to make mention of Mary. Jesus redirected her focus:

Ignoring Mary? Yes, when we focus on the word of God and our obedience to it.

Would you've replied to Jesus as "but your MOTHER!" after what He said? Or should your focus be on WHAT He said: hearing the word of God and obey it.

Don't bother. I was asking a few catholics and orthodox here a question about a verse they love to use. And one of them asked me to go to catholic.com to ask people there who are more knowledgeable. Which I hesitated to do, but did not want to seem like a hater. And as usual I got banned for being a catholic hater and trying to convert them, which I did neither of.

It is like they are afraid to let anyone discuss Gods word. It is not the first time this happened to me. When I was trying to discuss john 6 with a few catholics they did the same, When I went to the place they asked me to go. Their "knowledgeable" person did not discuss anything with me, Just called me a heretic of the worst kind sent from satan, and told his followers to not listen to anything I said.

Quite frankly the tone you use can only be described as confrontational. Anyway they ban rather quickly on those sites because of the large amount of less than friendly protestants who would be there trying to "tell the poor Catholics about Jesus" if they didn't.

Second, Trinity is tradition rather than Scripture.

Third, You simply become more deeply and steeply indoctrinated every day.

"Mary" supposedly showed up to three children (aw, gee! HOW can it be DEMONIC if it appeared to CHILDREN!! Yes, it can. How cruel for the enemy to use children and appeal to them (ex: Santa))

"Mary" referred to "herself" as the "Lady of the Rosary". (Jesus said we could BOLDLY go to God and simply ASK. Yet, this "Mary" draws people to "herself". Nowhere does Jesus tell people to go to His disciples. Nowhere does the disciples say "come onto ME". Instead, they just point the way to Christ.)

The children were told by "Mary" to pray the rosary every day. Nowhere do we see Jesus saying any such nonsense.
There's a "prayer" to Jesus for those who come against the "Heart of Mary". Jesus warned about blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

Read on and on and compare it to the words of Jesus.

The enemy IS a counterfeit. I believe it was the enemy who showed up to those children. Jesus warned of even people saying that the Christ is here and there. We're told not to believe that, either.

Yes, I understand the Bible does not say to pray to Mary or the Saints.

Many of you here accept that prophecy and miracles can occur through man through gifts of the Holy Spirit and call that from God, yet when they are recorded supernaturally through visions of Mary or through the intercessionary prayer of a passed on Saint it is from the devil because afterall the devil can appear as an angel of light.


There are numerous documented and compelling stories of healings, miracles or conversions to faith at Marian apparition sites and/or through prayer for the intercession of a Saint. I guess, in this crowd, such testimonies are lies or works of the devil.

I realize now a Protestant Christian chat site is not the place to bring these things up. I can respect that.

i used the rosary when i was a ten year old but that was how i was told. use to go for confession,yes i remember how to pray the hail mary fifty times to have my sins forgiven.

the sign of the cross is not used by the early church,it was brought in by the roman church. we true christians shouldnt use any signs,the sign should be in our heart and mind in Jesus. dont do what the pagans do, we are a separate people, a sanctified people.
