I enjoy running and endurance sports. I thought I'd make a thread for any members who enjoy jogging to share tips or discuss their workouts. I'm always interested in learning new fitness information from others.

I used to be a runner. I was in cross country/track. If it weren't for lifting, I'd love to do it again and maybe compete in some road races. I started out with high mileage(90 per week at my peak) and eventually transitioned to interval training. These days I run a mile on the treadmill at most. :P

Wow, 90 miles is a lot! That must have been tough on your knees/ joints. I've run quite a few half marathons and one full one years ago. I found training for the marathon too hard on my body. I stick to half marathons now. I can't imagine doing your mileage :)

I've wanted to learn more about interval training. I know some basics, but I'm sure there's a lot I don't know.

Surprisingly, me knees are just fine. :P That's awesome though! I never even attempted to run a marathon lol.

just be sure to have the right shoes and don't ever over-do the burn!

I learned this lesson the hard way:( I had never realized my left ankle turns in a bit when I run. My first few pairs of running shoes did nothing to correct or stabilize my foot. At first, I got away with it. When I started to increase my mileage though , my knee started aching. It was corrected with the right pair of shoes, but I had to wear a knee brace for awhile.
