So funny about lack of knowlege and spelling.... hummmm I am concerned about the poor soup kitchen. They lost supporters/funding?From who? Who approved Ryan to go there? I think the person who approved Ryan to show up should loose their job and go to work for Accorn or Acorn..... I cant spell This is horrable or is it horrible ? oh sorry for lack of knowlege due to my spelling ..... LOL

i agree <ryan> a wolf in sheeps clothing he did that to look good in the eyes of people too make himsel look good,not good i agree 2 not punish the soup kitchen,thier staff the people who go thier<whats' his face>[ryan] should pay the lost money and romney they can afford it and who ever arranged this and set it up to take place needs to be replaced amen....

No I'm suggesting that we pray for others regardless if we disagree with them. You haven't seen me bashing and posting tons of links about the negatives of Obama, there are tons of them out there which are crediable.

Lydia, you may not be posting Obama-bashing posts, but a lot of your sisters and brothers are. I tend not to follow those posts as carefully, so I'll have to take your word for it: do you chastise your Obama-bashing fellow-posters as critically as you have chastised Celeste? If so, then you are right. If not, you might want to think why you have a problem with Celeste's posts but not the others.

For the record: I'm no fan of Obama, though he would be better than Romney. If Mitt wins, I will pray for him, just as I've been praying for Barack, just as I prayed for George throughout his terms, for Bill before him, and George Sr. before him, for Ronald before him, and for Jimmy before him (yes, I'm that old). I pray for all our leaders.

Prayer does not negate the need, sometimes, for action. Even Jesus got off his knees at Gethsemane eventually and went and did what he needed to do.

Rather than just blowing up the board with Left-biased articles and trying to promote your cause, I would sincerely love to know your thoughts on how some of these issues relate to our faith, or what we can draw from these articles to become stronger in our walk with Christ. Perhaps we can promote some edification in addition to all the think progress headlines?

Well, actually, I think the OP does make an important point about Mitt. Is he truly self-sacrificing, or does he just make a show of it for the cameras? Of course, we don't really know. For all we know, he has served at many soup kitchens, and just didn't manage to get media coverage for any of them, but wanted to do this for the photo op. I don't know how many of you have worked in film, but reality tv is filled with people doing "ordinary" things that were completely staged. The fact that they were planned, staged, "faked," doesn't mean they don't really happen -- just that the cameras caught a fake, not the real thing. Of course, this also doesn't mean he is a volunteer. However, I know Mormons have a strong sense of volunteerism. I imagine he has put some hours into various charitable projects. Probably nowhere near as many as Barack has, but this isn't a contest about who volunteers most.

I've been trying to start discussions about the ISSUES rather than the candidates since MONTHS before Mitt won the nomination, and no one seems to want to join me. If you succeed where I have failed, I would love to partake in that conversation.
