What do you think happens when children are not raised learning the law of God? At its most fundamental core the Law of God is "as you have done it will be done unto you" and the corollary "do unto others as you would have them do unto you".

If you do not teach that to children then they will still learn the law of god, only not the true God, but the god of this age which is their golden rule "he who has the gold makes the rules".

We have experimented with our education. 100 years ago we had readers based on Bible stories. Kids loved them, they learned to read and they loved reading. Then they changed to the Dick and Jane books to eliminate the Bible from our schools. Now kids hate reading, and there are many cases of 18 year old kids who graduate from school without being able to read.

The US used to have the most effective education system in the world. But year by year it eroded until today our school system is mocked and ridiculed by the world. As a country we rank 38, but that is not a fair assessment. If you look at our school system based on ROI (return on investment) we have the worst school system in the world. We pay more and get less than any other country.

You know why? No reason to debate this. Oklahoma used to be the worst state in a country that was the worst in the world. They have decided it is time to wake up and tell all the bird brains to shut up. When the Bible was part of the school system and the curriculum the US was #1 in the world, so it is time to repent and return to the Lord. #braindead take

Those little homes on the prairie had mothers teaching the children to read using the family Bible, and the Word of God infused the children.
That produced a Godly population, great to be returning to righteous living.
Speaks to me of how He is using the USA to do His good will, and He is not done with this nation.

When I saw this news last week, I was glad to see he's resigning. Too bad he won't be taking a vacation out of everyone's life.

Even our conservatives are glad to see him resign. Oklahoma Attorney General posted that ever since Walters began serving as Secretary of Education "we have witnessed a stream of never-ending scandal and political drama."

A lady commented, "I think there’s one thing the left and the right can agree on in Oklahoma and that is that Ryan Walters is BAD for our children’s education."

And like someone else commented, he's been a mockery of our state.

Walters was Secretary of Education from 2020-2023. Then he was Superintendent from 2023-2025.
According to image I've included which is rankings by the Annie E. Casey Foundation, the ranking moved up one at the very end. One! If you go by WalletHub we're actually down to 50 (https://wallethub.com/edu/e/states-with-the-best-schools/5335).

Thought this was a pretty interesting story. Ryan Walters, the Superintendent of Oklahoma's public education is back in the news. He's requiring all public schools to have Bibles in their classrooms and teach its influence on the founding of the USA. Sounds pretty good, right? However, here's where it gets interesting.

Walters is taking bids right now from suppliers to supply Bibles for this. He has created a list of criteria which he wants for the Bibles:

1. They must be the King James Version with Old and New Testaments.​

2. They must not have commentary of any kind.​

​

2. They must have attached to them the US Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, the Pledge of Allegiance and must be leather-bound.​

Guess what, there's only one Bible currently on the market that meets these criteria: you guessed it, the Donald Trump God Bless the USA Bible! LOL

But there's a more serious problem I have with all of this, and that is Walters' insistence that it's all purely historical. It's prohibited by Oklahoma's State Constitution to use public funds to support any system of religion. The Bibles will, after all, be purchased with tax dollars.

Section II-5: Public money or property - Use for sectarian purposes.​

No public money or property shall ever be appropriated, applied, donated, or used, directly or indirectly, for the use, benefit, or support of any sect, church, denomination, or system of religion, or for the use, benefit, or support of any priest, preacher, minister, or other religious teacher or dignitary, or sectarian institution as such.—Oklahoma Constitution, Section II-5​

In order for Walters to skirt this, he has to basically declare that the Bible is a purely historical document. This is clearly not the case; and it's pretty hypocritical of him, since he is declaring his own faith is based on a history book.

Several school districts in Oklahoma have already said they won't comply with his edict. Actually, he doesn't have the authority to do this. Under Oklahoma state law, school districts have sole authority to set their own curriculum.

Walters is already in hot water and is the subject of a State investigation for the way he has handled funds and his lack of transparency. Some have commented that he seems to have political ambitions and wants to get his face out there on FOX News. Hard to disagree. I would add that it seems to me like an obvious Christian nationalist move on his part.

The Quran is in high schools. There are many books in the library that violate the religious beliefs of Christians, you don't see them saying those books should not be allowed. Just because you have a book in the school does not mean it is part of the curriculum. Every school has a library. No one is forcing anyone to read that book.

Now if they make a curriculum around this book, is it an elective or is it required for graduation? If the class is an elective then anyone who doesn't want to participate is free to not take that class.

The only way you have a case is if this book becomes a required reading in a class that is required for graduation. Is that the case? I highly doubt it.

My sister kept her boys in private school, their marks were high, read their Bibles, they were well rounded, loved their teachers. Her husband decided to take them out and I literally cried that day. Almost an immediate change when they went back to public school. Grades dropped, their teachers were pushing all kinds of junk, they didn't talk about God as much. My oldest nephew told me he liked a girl but she claimed to be lesbian and told me not to tell anyone. I talked with him a long time but the damage had already been done, by the school. At least if they have to read a Bible they won't be corrupted. Shoot even Muslims are against what the looney Libs are for.

That is baloney. They have classes that review all religions and they read from their texts in those classes. You are really clueless about a lot of things you pretend to be an expert on.
