Reread my posts. Covenants contain laws.
I never said it didn't. All I said was that new covenant does not mean new laws. They are not equal.

Someone pointed to a scripture that says "new covenant" as proof for a "new law"... all I did was point out that they weren't the same thing, so that scripture does not prove anything.

There are facts that were stated and there were points I noted as opinion. It is dishonest to conflate the two in order to detract from what is fact.
I definitely know the difference. What I was referring to as opinion was opinion. I can go back and gather the opinions from that post, but I don't think it's really going to be beneficial. If you have a specific scripture you want to address we can talk about that if you want.

you still do not get it

The law requires perfection As james said if we keep the whole law yet stumble in one point we are guilty

so to tell someone to try to keep the law is ridiculous. Why tell them to keep something THEY CAN NOT KEEP?
Because its not about being able to do everything in the law perfectly (grace covers where we fall short).... its about guarding against lawlessness and striving for the best we can do:

Romans 2:6-11

6 For he will repay everyone according to what that person has done: 7 eternal life to those WHO STRIVE FOR glory, honor, and immortality by patiently doing good; 8 but wrath and fury for those who in their selfish pride refuse to believe the truth and practice wickedness instead. 9 There will be suffering and anguish for every human being who practices doing evil, for Jews first and for Greeks as well. 10 But there will be glory, honor, and peace for everyone who practices doing good, initially for Jews but also for Greeks as well, 11 because God does not show partiality.

Paul told you the purpose of the law. To bring us to the knowledge of sin. It was not made for those who are righteous (believers) but for the sinner, Who has yet to find christ.

in telling people to try to keep the law. You are watering down the law. Your trying to make it attainable when the only person who is good, in jesus own words, is God

Take your focus f self and place it on christ like the rest of us. And then, and ONLY THEN, will you find the freedom Christ came to give
Maybe you can help brother MailkB with this:

You stiff-necked people with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit, just as your fathers did. Which of the prophets did your fathers fail to persecute? They even killed those who foretold the coming of the Righteous One. And now you are His betrayers and murderers— you who received the law ordained by angels, yet have not kept it.” Acts 7: 51-53

NOTICE - Stephen's exhortation and warning (the Holy Spirit) ended with:
"you who received the law ordained by angels, yet have not kept it.”
After he said this - they killed him.
Death through Law and LIFE through Jesus Christ

No. Its not. That's not even close. Its talking about the High Priest coming from a different tribe.

And because the High Priest changed, the Law He is representing has changed as well.
Yes about the High Priest... no about the law as a whole.

What were the Levites responsible for? Was it not animal sacrifice?

The penalties for breaking the law are sometimes referred to as law.... however, we know that they are penalties. There is a difference between a speed limit and the fine associated with breaking the speed limit.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life

and God RESTED on the 7th day from all His Work..........
Amen! But that doesn't explain YOUR Sabbath and YOU condemning all to Hell who don't believe you.

WRONG

The law is about being obedient to perfection. That is what Moses demanded, That is what Paul confirmed, and James made it three witnesses to that fact.

Your rejecting the word my Firend. Not just Paul/ But moses and James. And in effect. Jesus.

The law of Christ is about serving God and others. Its called the law of love. WHICH COVERS the law of moses.

So the Messiah wasn't the only sinless one? Was Abraham sinless?... Moses?.... Noah?

The Sabbath preachers don't seem to have a clue what their Sabbath is. Maybe they should be silent until they figure it out, instead of condemning everyone else to Hell fire?

The Sabbath is so easy to understand even as a child I thought it was funny that everyone went to church on Sunday?? I see more excuses about why people don't keep the Sabbath rather than what day is really the Sabbath. So if we all agree on what the right day is besides the few...Why is it so hard to accept going to church on that day if it does not matter to someone who goes on Sunday? God wants us to fellow ship all together regardless of denomination of church you go to. Just let God pick that day not man.
There is no "wrong day" to rest in the Lord :)

For when the priesthood is changed, the law must be changed also. Hebrews 7:12

Yea... the day is one thing, but there is also the work part of it. It can be hard for many to not work on that day.
Man does need rest from work :)

The rest in this case is ceasing from works to attain salvation.

"This case" being the covenant with better promises instituted by Jesus.

Yes... this is referring to the penalties under the priesthood... not all of Gods law. The Levites were in charge of the sacrifices.
