Think about salvation, a free gift from God paid in full. Then you say is it really free? Don't you have to follow the ten commandments, and love your enemies and repay good for evil? Not to mention regularly go to church and study the Bible?

True, you do need to begin to go forward in doing all those things once you receive salvation.

Think about a gift of a chainsaw the chainsaw will last forever as long as you take good care of it. You have to add the gas (ask God for His strength and DAILY bread (Words from Him and the Word of God (Bible)) a chainsaw without gas is of no use. Next commandment: DON'T DRAG YOUR CHAINSAW THROUGH THE SAND OR THE MUD It will hinder it from working properly and could destroy it's usefulness. Sin destroys People trample Jesus through the mud by repeat ably sinning. Don't use anything else except the chainsaw for cutting logs. Worship only God and don't rely on your own strength or goodness it just won't cut it (get it cut it. hehe). Don't misplace your chainsaw. If you forget what Jesus did for you by being distracted by the cares of this life or not coming together with other Christians you could forget your salvation and the good things God put inside of you would be for nothing including maybe losing your salvation. If anyone has anything to add, please do.
