Also as a side note there isn't a single clear verse in the Bible that says you can lose your salvation. But there are some cryptic verses that people will try to twist. Feel free to ask me about some if you would like.
Not true, but, then, those who subscribe to OSAS will agree with you, and they are plentiful here on the BDF, so don't worry..... you will have lots of support...........

Exposing the False Doctrine of Once Saved Always Saved

(excerpt)

This is the will of my Father who sent me, that of all he has given to me I should lose nothing, but should raise him up at the last day. This is the will of the one who sent me, that everyone who sees the Son, and believes in him, should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”
John 6:39-40
Comments: This is a favorite scripture of those who believe in the doctrine of once saved always saved. However, this verse does not say people cannot lose their salvation. It only says it is the will of the Father that none would be lost. Other scriptures make it very clear that the will of the Father is not always done in the earth. This is why Jesus instructed us to pray, ‘Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.’ Another scripture tells us God is not willing that any should perish. However, we know there are many who perish

“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vine dresser. “Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit. “You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. “Remain in me, stay with me, and continue to be with me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it remains, stays, and continues to be in the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me, stay with me, and continue to be with me. “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who remains in me, stays with me, and continues to be with me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. “If anyone does not remain in me, stay with me, and continue to be with me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned. “If you remain in me, stay with me, and continue to be with me and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. “My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so you become My disciples. “Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; remain in my love, stay in my love, and continue to be in My love.
John 15:1-9
Comments: The word ‘abide’ comes from the Hebrew word ‘meno’, which is defined as ‘to remain, to sojourn, not to depart, tarry, to continue to be present, to stay with. When you replace the word ‘abide’ with the clearer definition of what meno means, it shines a bright light on the meaning of this passage from John 15. In this light, John 15 blows a gaping hole in the doctrine of ‘once saved always saved.’
Okay so like in the part of my post that you quoted I said there are cryptic verses out there that are twisted. Now bearing fruit has to do with the works that we do not our salvation. God is literally a father to those who are saved. You can choose to have a good relationship with him or a bad relationship. This is what you are speaking about in the above reply. But you are correct in the sense that we will be judged by our works, but at the Judgement Seat of Christ. Not he Great White Throne Judgement. The Great White Throne Judgement is for the unsaved and the Judgement Seat of Christ is for the Saved ( read 1 cor 3:9-end for reference) Our works will stand judgement and if they were not profitable they will be burned up. If they were good works they will abide like gold silver and precious stones as the Bible said. But if you are a child of God through belief God is not going to send you to hell. He will for Adam's children, and Satan's children but not his own. But thank you for the reply anyway. Feel free to try to give me a clear scripture in the Bible, instead of trying to confuse people with difficult scripture. I am well versed in salvation, I have heard all the verses you can think of to try and be a stumbling block. I go door to door soulwinning, so I have heard many people try to muddy up the "simplicity that is in Christ".

Exactly if you are born again then you are covered in Jesus righteousness. Therefore you can no longer be condemned by sin. "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." 1 John 1:8. But thanks for the reply.

But you are ignoring what ALL and WHOLE WORLD means to a first-century Jew. Salvation was only of the Jews until Christ opened the door for Gentiles according to the promise made to Abraham. All nations would be blessed (saved) in him. But most Jews were obviously lost. As are most gentiles. God only saves the elect from all nations.

“The Father gives me the people who are mine. Every one of them will come to me, and I will always accept them.” John 6:37 (NCV)
T.U.L.I.P. is a man made belief I do not follow those. But thanks.

I think the first 3 points of the 5 points are scriptural and cannot be refuted.
The Bible says in 1 John 2:2 "And he is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world." I believe that is extremely clear. Really cannot get anymore clear than that. propitiation is meaning atonement for or appeasing God.

We are either slaves of sin or slaves of Christ. I don't trust myself and would rather be under Christ's control.
But that still goes to show, that slaves make mistakes. You will sin till the day you die, I mean if we are being honest with ourselves us arguing here could maybe even be considered sin. And the Bible says that even the thought of foolishness is sin.

Read it like a first-century Jew. Salvation was only for the Jews and those who converted to biblical Judaism. But in fulfilling the promise to Abraham, it was now for the whole world. But not each and every person obviously. Most of Abraham's seed were evildoers. As are the gentiles.

Please show me the verse where it says you have to convert to Judaism to be saved LOL. The Bible says the Jews are those who are circumcised of the heart, not of the flesh. Birth right has nothing to do with salvation. Romans 2:28-29"For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God."

Under the OT the few gentiles had to covert to biblical Judaism, be circumcised, obey the law. Under the New Covenant, the gospel is for the gentiles too.

In the Old Testament People were saved by faith in the New Testament people were saved by faith. In the OT they were looking towards the cross in the NT we are looking back at the cross. different time lines, same God. The difference now is we do not have to sacrifice in order to get right with God (not salvation) in the NT we have direct access to the father through prayer because of the Holy Spirit which dwells within us. But salvation is the same. "Abraham believed God and it was counted unto him for righteousness." Romans 4:3. You can also reference Genesis 3:6. But you are right anyone could be accepted in the OT. However being a Jew still did not save you and being a Jew now still does not save you. God is not a respecter of persons. There were many unsaved Jews in the OT.

But salvation did not happen outside of Israel.

In that verse it does not say salvation is for the Jews it says of the Jews. God used them as a vessel, they were supposed to teach everyone in the OT. But they did not they were selfish and kept it all to themselves that is why God later in the OT rejects them and is angry at them. What he is saying there is that the Jews were the vessel to which salvation was brought to the world. Not only Jews can have salvation. If you look at the phrasing that is what that means and if you look at the context that is what he is saying. That is why the woman at the well gets saved later. She doesn't become a Jew she believes that he is the messiah.

Was Christ of the Jews, or of the gentiles? = Salvation is of the Jews. And believing gentiles are also Israel in both testaments.

Christ humbled himself as a man. He is not a man. He is neither. He is God. Now when he was in the flesh he was a man, he needed to do this in order to fulfill prophecy but Jesus right now is by no means a man.

The Jews rejected Jesus and, like it says in 1 Thessalonians 2:14-15, They killed him. God is not a respecter of persons. Being Jewish has to do with a whole lot of nothing.

“Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.” 1 John 3:9 (KJV 1900)
One thought on that. oh HI DAVE! What is "born of God"? I always wondered being born again or born from above what is created new? The new man which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. So that which is born of God.. can it sin? :) This flesh can. But that which is born of God does not commit sin. Just a thought
