Keep Jesus in your heart and pray daily. Read his word each day. It gets eaiser each day when you work at it
Amen, Mom, Salvation is not always as complicated as people make it seem. We are to ask, receive, and live it! Dad's right, if we keep Him in our heart, read His word, pray diligently, and seek His kingdom and His will for our lives, He will be by our side faithfully and guide us through! Thanks for this gentle reminder.

Man tends to make salvation so complicated. Ask and believe!

Acts 16: 31“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.”
Your belief does not save you eternally, however it does save you here in time from depending upon your own good works for eternal salvation. 2 Tim 2:15, Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. The scriptures have different Greek translations for the same words, such as the words, saved, salvation, saving, world, justification, etc.

God does not arbitrarily save some and reject others. He made salvation available through Christ to any person who will choose to believe. We do not believe because we are saved, we are saved when we believe.

We are truly saved only when we are delivered from death, pain, sickness, sin and the Devil. Until the "new heavens and the new earth" (Rev 21) are created and I am in it partaking of the Water of Life (Rev 22), then i am saved.

That's what it is to be "delivered", salvation means "deliverance" in Greek.

Why crown yourself as victor when you are still struggling in the arena? Does an athlete claim victory before he defeats all his enemies? The last enemy is death (1 Corinthians 15:26)
The elect's eternal salvation was secured by Christ's work on the cross.

Eternal salvation is made available through Christ to every man who will choose to believe.
choosing to believe is a work of man. eternal salvation is not by the works of man.

Actually jesus says in john 6 chosing to believe is a work of God, so unless you call Jesus a liar.

faith is not our work because we did not do anything we are trusting God and all his work and promises based on that work.. all we do is sit still and trust. That is not work, and we can not take credit because we did not do anything. it was all God

But the natural man will not sit still and trust a spiritual God, he cannot descern spiritual things, they are foolishness unto him 1 Cor 2:14. You cannot claim your eternal salvation by the grace of God unless you deny yourself completley. It sure seems a hard thing for man to want to hold on to something that makes themselves willing to let God save them.

Joh 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw (Drag) him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

hel-koo'-o, hel'-ko
Probably akin to G138; to drag (literally or figuratively): - draw. Compare G1667.

Yep, this is why only a few will enter in. many will take the wide gate. the thing which keeps us from God is pride. Romans 1 makes this clear. no man will have an excuse. Not because they can't understand who God is and that they are rightly condemned. They know it. But because they reject it. Or else they try to get to God their own way, through works.

Thats why faith is not our work. it is trust in God. not self.
