The true acts of the Holy Spirit do glorify Christ, but that doesn't mean we are to never talk about them. Discussion and elevation are two different things.

neither view is biblical...the Bible has plenty to say about the work and the office of the Spirit of God in our lives..

on the other hand, I don't think Christianity...biblical Christianity...is supposed to be a 'balancing act'...thing is, the unbalanced seem to have an awful loud voice....:p

my dad taught me to stay away from large congregated groups of people..he didn't mean church...but.....:cool:

the walk that we eventually begin to walk-on, after 'conversion' will
be a 'straight and narrow line'...

but for many, even the shower of The Latter Rain won't convince
the hard-of-heart, because they will not depart from their evil-ways...

I guess that's one way of putting it..... blame the Pentecostals.

Oooor, we could say that Satan imitates that which is real, which the Pentecostals are. Whatever you believe, does Satan try to imitate them?:)

That's part of the two step plan, yeeeah.
1. Fool them wit "our" false doctrine, & we've won.
2. Make everybody hate it all, & they throw everything out, making true doctrine void thru lack of faith & confusion.

Either way, a win-win situation for Satan.

What gets me is how many know-nothings- claiming-to-be-christians there are that makes it easy for Satan & hard for us.

No wonder God is bringing great wrath on the falling away thru & after the Tribulation.:rolleyes:

This is just my story. I had never read the bible, when at the request of a Pastor, after a short sermon, I asked God what do you want me to do. A voice spoke very clearly to my mind, bypassing my physical hearing, the first thing He said was, you must accept My Son as your Savior. Of course the Holy Spirit spoke to me, however the Voice identified Himself as the Father(saying My Son). The Holy Spirit did not speak of Himself but gave to me the message straight from the Father. I think we should pray and praise God the Father and Jesus the Son and by so doing we will bring honor to the Holy Spirit.
 
We pray and praise God by the authority of Christ thru the Holy Spirit... does that sound right?

yeah

we come to God through Jesus...by His blood technically (by the way, there actually is an altar in heaven...that's in scripture) and by the Holy Spirit who indwells us

so we pray to God in Jesus Name and by the power of the Holy Spirit who indwells us

seems to be the default prayer
