You need to learn what Savior means. Until and unless you do, you will not be able to comprehend gospel.
Faith is the only tender that will spend in heaven.
Faith is a continually surrendered life. That thing that Gods word talks about storing up in heaven, it's the surrendered life.
Go back to the basics if you think Gods work on Calvary, the blood sacrifice only covers the chosen.
Faith isn't necessary in heaven; we will have sight and direct experience.
If so they were sadly misinformed.... Salvation comes from our Lord and HIS Passion on Calgary. However, faith that does not include LIVING the commands of Jesus, or 'works' if you prefer, is not the faith HE calls us into.
Without our own faith life, Without a surrendered life, He can never be ours to be in heaven with. Rom. 8:9
We will unload our faith in heaven , our life of surrender, and then we'll no longer need it, as far as we know.
I'm not much for naming doctrine, but i assume there is a specific name for those who understand Jesus only died for a certain group of people, do you mind of i ask what that is?
In addition to my other response, everyone who believes that humanity is a finite number, though large, believes in limited atonement. They just believe the atonement applies to all, and not some.
I agree. Jesus, in the passage about Him being the Good Shepherd, said:
(Joh 10:26-30 NKJV) "But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand. I and My Father are one."
Think of Saul/Paul. He was breathing out threats against the church, and on his way to Damascus to round up for punishment any Christians he found there. Then what happened?
(Act 9:3-6 NKJV) As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?" And he said, "Who are You, Lord?" Then the Lord said, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads." So he, trembling and astonished, said, "Lord, what do You want me to do?" Then the Lord said to him, "Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do."
Nothing about him stopping to make a choice to fall to the ground before the Lord Jesus Christ, or before calling Him "Lord", and asking Him, "What do you want me to do?"
Paul himself was later to write to Christians in Ephesus, reminding them how they had been saved. By making a choice? No:
(Eph 2:1-10 NKJV) And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
I have put in mauve the things that God has done to save sinners, and in green the things describing what the Ephesians and all Christians were like and what they did before they were saved. Nothing about them choosing. They were dead in trespasses and sins, so how could they choose? That would be like expecting Lazarus to choose to come alive and emerge from his tomb before Jesus raised him.
Where in the Bible do we find sinners being condemned by grace? Grace in the Bible is God's undeserved favour, so it doesn't make sense to say that people are condemned by grace.
He died for all the sins, past , present, and future.
That means that grace, that unmerited favor is available to everyone ever born. So if they choose the wide path, they choose the wide path by what i could say is a kind of state of grace . Faith is key that opens that unmerited favor. A continually surrendered life.
