Even though we are saved by grace, it doe's not mean that the works have stopped. It simply mean that it is not the works we do that save us, but rather faith itself that saves us. When the law was written, the Israelites looked upon the law that was put on paper. The law was the Holy Spirit on paper. The two was separate, man and the law. that is why they could not keep the law. When God sent Jesus to preach the gospel, Jesus finished his work and left so that God could send the Holy Spirit. The two emerged together, man and the Holy Spirit ,We in him,and he in us. To receive the Holy Spirit was receiving the law in spirit, and not on paper. Written on our hearts by the dwelling of the Holy Spirit. The works continue, but have nothing to do with being saved. So you see; EPHESIANS 2; 9; SAYS;Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10; For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.( God fixed it where you could not boast in doing good works to be saved . He saved you first, and then the good works followed salvation. Not works first and then salvation. that would mean that you are in control, and God knew that very well.
