That's right I will not acknowledge because there is only 1 true faith that leads to salvation, and that is faith in Jesus Christ.

All other forms of faith do not lead to salvation, so of course I do not recognize any other teachings that say salvation comes from other ways besides through Jesus Christ.

No problem MarcR, maybe I'm misunderstanding Rom_10:9. But I don't see believing with your heart as being mental assent. Could you explain how a person believes with their heart?

Rom_10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

He gave me remission of sins by dying on the cross, and showing me how to receive that remission through repentance and baptism/born again. As He clearly says no repentance and not being born again through baptism will have those not inherit eternal life, for you have to repent and be born again for salvation.
I lean on the fruits of the Spirit that are evident in my life that will be evident in all true born again believers showing proof that they are abiding in Christ and Christ in them. The bible says no fruits of the Spirit evident in a persons life they are not born again unto salvation.

I am zealous for the works of the Spirit and urge others to produce good works as we are all told to do in the faith.
Nowhere does the bible say sit back, do nothing, you are saved unto salvation. The bible gives two examples of a lazy or disobedient servant, and in both their outcome is not eternal life.

Praise God for that my brother, However the cross is not just for salvation. In fact the cross is everything. The slippery sliding slope is self righteousness and we can do it with realizing it. We are set apart (sanctification) by the cross. Every blessing we receive is by the cross. To say I do this and I did that nullifies the cross and the Father will not accept it. It is not by power, nor by might, but by My Spirit saith the Lord. If you do it He will not accept it. The Lord your God is a jealous God. It must be by Him and not you.
 
To believe with your heart, means you trust in everything said from or regarding the Lord in the faith that leads to salvation.

So by your own admission in the statement above, there are two kinds of faith, 1) saving faith that leads to salvation and faith that doesn't lead to salvation. What is your definition of faith that doesn't lead to salvation?

I know you know this, but it is not the cross as the cross has no power. It is what the Lord did on the cross, for if it wasn't for Him dying on the cross for our sins that cross would be no different then any other cross used for crucifixion. It is what He did on it, and not it itself.
And saying I does not nullify the crucifixion, as Apostle Paul even used 1st person terms.
" I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. "

Lord Jesus gets the credit for what we can do, because He makes the changes in our lives that shows in our outer actions, deeds, speech, and works.......

I tend to kind of dig deeper then that, in places people in two categories as unbelievers and believers even though the other branches fall under unbelief.

I believe in one true faith in Christ that leads to salvation...............


When it comes to false faith that does not lead to salvation I break it down as the bible does.
For the bible says those that have heard the faith but continue to be disobedient to it are also considered as unbelief, so disobedience is unbelief to. Plus you know even though they all fall under unbelief we have different religious groups out there that do not believe the same way, but none of them acknowledge Jesus so they are all unbelievers to.
But then we are charged to try and convert those from these false ways to Christ.................
 
The focus in ones faith should be love of God abiding in Christ through the fruits of the Holy Spirit !!!

What kind of faith is being spoken of in this verse? Did these have the one true faith in Jesus Christ or did they have the false faith?

1Ti 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
 
What you are forgetting is how powerful David was. The reason why is that David would ask God what to do. When David failed is when he did not ask but acted on His own. What does that tell us?

I believe these are part of those that Jesus mentioned in the sower and the seed, that they did abide in the faith for a little while but because their faith was weak and not well rooted in Him false teachers came up and drew them away with words of deception.

I thought David was powerful because he was a man after God's own heart.
