In my experience, people usually seem to lean more toward one or the other. They either find it easier and more natural to pray, and perhaps a struggle to devote time to scripture, or vice versa. I tend to be much better in my prayer life than in meditating on the word. I don't know if this has to do with my relational personality (vs a more information driven learning personality) or if it's completely random.

What about you? Are you more scripture driven, more prayer driven, or do you find both equally difficult or easy?

(Of course, both are equally important to a balanced spiritual life.)

I am definitely more prayer driven now, but it hasn't always been the case. When I was younger, I was more of a apologetics/knowledge driven person. It wasn't until my early 20's when the Lord showed me what sacrifice was that it became more about relationships for me. I still love to study the Word, but I need to have that "face" time in prayer.

Prayer, praise and worship come more naturally to me at the moment. I do try to read the bible every day though.

Prayer is talking to God. It doesn't require being in a quiet place and being on one's knees(although that can make it easier to concentrate!).

I pray(talk to God) for lots of circumstances...it could be when I've got a need or when I want to thank Him for something that's happening or when I'm baffled by life and am searching for an explanation, etc.

I pray(talk to God) under lots of circumstances...I could be in the shower, driving to work, sharing my faith with someone, trying to encourage someone, in a tough spot where I'm needing patience, laying in bed about to fall asleep, preparing to read Scripture, etc.

Scripture is more challenging. That requires taking and setting aside time and concentrating on words that were written to instruct, encourage, and correct me.

I have room for improvement in both areas(and always will), but the latter(Scripture) is where I lack disciple more.

Hi there! I hope you're good.
For me, I think prayer and meditating/pondering on God - His Word, are inseparable.
