Which is more Christ-like? To press in gathering more of the past, or what lay ahead? What does the Apostle’s “press” really look like?

Myself, I’m not opposed to retrieval and see it as quite beneficial, although I do object to a fixated insistence of it over much else wherein the definition of press is set. Therefore, can the reasonable mix become, lukewarm or some such unwanted condition?

what?

Maybe try this press: Just to note it IS French so its godliness has been waning for some time. 1918-01_c_2.jpg

Justifiable refusal for someone to offer anything. For among the many areas of this press for the sake of equipping of the saints, isn't living (or dying) unto oneself, but unto the Lord and to one another.
What does the Apostle’s “press” really look like?
The fundamental concern of the press here is not centered on any one thing, but to broaden the potential for God's power in one's life.

Receiving and reflecting Christ's love is just one aspect towards that power.

Laboring and building oneself up in the WOG (word of God) to guide others is another.

The spiritual exploration we are told to embark upon "earnestly" has IMO, taken the biggest hit within the whole sphere of the Apostle's press for excellence. That should not be viewed as some who foster the idea of supposed error of those who's press is towards spiritual exploits. They who resist that press may themselves be under the Lord's conditioning of something quite different. It's how they use that office towards aversion against the spiritual is what gets them into refusing "many members" trouble.

But your refusal here is justified, as no one lives to himself in search of the press. Just know to be fully convinced in your own thinking, what that proper ratio of your own journey of ongoing transformation should be. If it be just one gift He has instilled, great! Finding out how that fit's into the corporate press of the Church is greater still!

“Be imitators of me, as I also am of Christ, , Thus I fight, in such a way, as to avoid hitting air, ,I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” – Paul, the second to "none" Apostle

1 Cor. 11:1, 9:26, Phl 3:14

Either “The stars are setting” from the Father of lights, or inadvertently, “the caravan starts for the dawn of nothing” (“air”).

1 Peter 2:21
New International Version

21 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.

Numbers 32:13
New International Version

13 The Lord’s anger burned against Israel and he made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until the whole generation of those who had done evil in his sight was gone.

Psalm 121
New International Version

1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

Psalm 121 verses 7-8 ~ The LORD will guard you from all evil; He will preserve your soul. The LORD will watch over your coming and going, both now and forevermore.

Aside from my failure to quote from others for all of you who wish to advance onward from where you are is, to never let that sowing to the Spirit (His gifts and fruits) out of sight, nor in keeping one's contentment in an edgy balance till you "progress to the next level".

Meanwhile, with all we are expected to endure in this life, this is what I have come to understand as the Apostle's press.

"Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously." (2Cor 9:6)
