Seek only what Jesus has to you!
Why is the fact of the child to be weaned so important, to the point of Abraham to make a great feast when Isaac was weaned?
When a child is being breastfed by the mother, they are completely dependent on the mother. When this child is weaned, they pass to be dependent only of the father. This child now is capable of finding rest in the lap of the mother independently of his meal, especially considering that this child doesn’t have others desires in their heart.
Similarly, we need to be weaned of the world and to be dependent only of Jesus, rest, wait and hope only in Him (Psalms 37.7). But for this, we can’t put all people under us, neither rise our eyes trying to see what it isn’t for us to see (Ct 2.7; 3.5; 8.4). We need to remember that Adam and Eve fall into the sin when they pined for more ken, when they had their eyes open for what is evil (Genesis 3.5,6).
So, let’s not walking in great things. Remember: “… for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.” (Luke 16.15). After all, always that we mull over in things too wondrous for us, our tendency is fall into proud and, if this comes about, we’ll need the same thing that Paul:
