How should I react with my 18 year year old grandson, whom I’ve raised, tells me he has an older, experienced girlfriend now? He’s fallen away from Jesus , ride and hanging around wearing crowd and now from what I’m hearing, the girls father is a pastor but she is not walking the Christian life, so now neither is my grandson. She is controlling of him already. I prayed to Jesus for answers because I don’t want to say the wrong thing and push him away but I don’t think he’s ready for that because of his irresponsible behavior and him walking away from family and Christ. Any advice would be appreciated. I’m not very good at controlling my emotions or temper

Well firstly it might help if you can convince him to go to church again it might spark his passion again and maybe the message being taught is exactly what he needs to hear but also if she is that controling he might stray away from her with a little nudge perhaps remind him of Jesus and maybe if he is willing he will come back on his own.

often times kids need a little room to make their own mistakes I am reminded very much of the parable of the prodigal son

I agree with Blain , remember that he's only young and needs to find out for himself if this girl is suitable or not , once a person gets to a certain age it's best to let them make their own mistakes and then just b there for them if and when it goes wrong . You will always b his grandma and he will always need your love and support . He is just starting out in life and just because he seems to b going down the wrong road now , doesn't mean that that is the path he will stay on forever . We learn to love the Lord through our own personal journey , he knows how to bring each of us to him . Trust your grandson and trust in God . Time will tell one way or another .

I have been taking in all advice and praying for him. It’s just hard because he was on the right path with Jesus and he shouldn’t have let his friends or girlfriend change that just because they didn’t understand of walk that path. He had wanted a Jesus chain to hang on his car rear view mirror, I got him one, it lasted 3 days till his girlfriend seen it and removed it and replaced it with a hello kitty hanging toy. I don’t know if I’m more hurt and upset at her for doing or at him for allowing it

Please try not to take this as a personal slight to yourself , did u say that this girl was a pastor's daughter ? It sounds to me as if she's going through a rebellious phase and maybe dragging your grandson along with her , for now at least . Think about who u were at that age , u r not the same person now as u were then r u ? U have grown and changed , he will too , even she will ! B patient , don't c there behaviour as being against u , or even being against God . There could b things going on here that u r not aware of . Don't alienate yourself from your grandson or his girlfriend . B there for both of them , as much as they will allow u . Most of all b patient 😜 . All things work together for good to them that love God .

Thank you! I really needed to hear that and I will be patient. Yes I’m pretty sure I was not enjoyable at that age🤪

A LOT of men have testified publicly their gratitude for their praying Grandmother.

I don't know if there's much that could be said by anyone that would change his mind. That doesn't mean that you shouldn't. I think that the best thing would be to not assume that he's saved because he was raised in church. I would try to get him saved ASAP and continue praying for him.

The Lord can then intervene in his life to set him apart from harmful influences. John 17:17.
While you're at it, try to lead his girlfriend to Christ when you see her too. When they trust Jesus for His free gift, the Holy Spirit lives within and influences them as believers. He will guide their lives as they yield to Him.

I will include a gospel message or two that are short and to the point. I would mark your Bible with the same verses and listen enough until you think you can do it without anxiety. Presenting the gospel is something all God's children can do. Just let me know if you have any questions.
