Are you looking for a friend or a romantic partner?
If looking for romance the best approach here is slow and natural. Prowling around trying to hit up lots of men (or women, depending on your gender) tends to get spread around fast. And not for good reasons.
Also making dating profile posts doesn't work well either. Theu don't tend to get serious responses.
But if you're here for friends, or even the off chance of meeting someone, the best way is just to participate in threads. Let people see you being active and get to know you that way.
And be patient. Forum communication is slower. If you have any hobbies or special interests perhaps create a thread on that topic in the Misc forums. See if anyone else shares that interest.
Even if just looking for friends the Singles forum is the easiest place. Avoid the Bible Discussion Forum. It is a war zone. Unless vehemently and viciously debating the bible is your thing, then head on over.

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
I am reminded of a testimony where a man was converted to Christianity.
Immediately he lost his job and home.
His wife stayed with him.
But they became homeless and had to live with the homeless in their own tent on the beach.
They took turns to sleep and watch, so as not to lose their belongings.
After 3 months the man cried to the Lord, “is christian life really meant to be like this”
Immediately God answered, “You are not witnessing of me”
The man immediately began to witness about the Lord and His so great salvation.
Very soon he gained employment equivalent to his qualifications and a home.
