The whole business of psychological treatment is to make men and women forget themselves,to become interested in something else, to this self interest to some thing else. It is this morbid, pathetic interest in self that makes us so miserable. That is why we break down in life; that is why we fall when tribulation comes- self- pity. Why should this be happening to me? I ask. I am looking to myself all the time and because of that everything is exaggerated. Now Paul does not do that because he is looking for Christ and the glory of Christ and the gospel is what he is concerned about. It is not, why am I chained to these men? or what I am suffering or enduring! His one concern is that with all boldness,as always,so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be life or by death.
Clearly, the man has lost himself and therefore there can be self pity,no sympathizing with himself,no feeling sorry for himself and going down hopelessly before it all. No, he has a healthy altitude towards himself. He says, Iam in Christ,Iam a citizen of the kingdom and it is not self that matters, it is the kingdom,it is the king. He is so concerned about this that he is emancipated out of this whole vortex of morbidity and unhappiness that is such a curse in life at the present time.
By Dr . Martin LLoyd-Jones.
My beloved friends, shall I ask you that simple question? Have you suffered one of these trials? How have you come through it all? You know what happened to you, the heart knows it's own bitterness but I ask you, are you like Paul? Are you free from this grumbling and querying the love of God? Are you sure of God and are you right in your altitude towards yourself? Have you become lost in Christ, which is the secret of it all?

Why post this twice on this site? This type of behavior becomes rather annoying to most after a while...

Well one would assume it was an accident sister. :)
I just don’t want to offend people here , I joined this site to learn and be encouraged by some one and also to encourage some one but some one sent me a message that I should slow down and he thinks , I think I know it all and that’s not my intention to be here. Please tell me if it’s against the rules to Post threads .

It isn't against the rules to post threads, but the mods discourage against posting the same thread in multiple forums. As WineRose pointed out, not only is it annoying, but it also clogs up the forums..
