Job 8:13: New American Standard Bible (©1995) "So are the paths of all who forget God; And the hope of the godless will perish...
Psalm 9:17 New International Version (©2011) The wicked go down to the realm of the dead, all the nations that forget God.

The world is on a separate path from the church. The Word is clear concerning the "Broad & Narrow Paths" and where they lead. God will judge Nations concerning what their relationship to acknowledging His existence and how they obey the golden rule of "love thy neighbor as thyself" and how we treat each other on an individual basis as human beings.

It is my belief, that every human born has the "Knowledge of Good and Evil" in their consciences. The same sin that is now inherent in all humans born naturally because of the First Man Adam, also includes inherently, the knowledge of good and evil. All humanity is without excuses for not knowing right from wrong.

If some ungodly person attacks me within my home or a family member is under threat for any other reason than witnessing for Jesus or just being a Child of God, I hope to have some form of equalizer. In my opinion, this would not be a time to test my faith and start holding hands and singing "we shall overcome". My rule of law within a corrupt society of brute beasts is, "It is better to be judged by 12 than be carried by 6; and as the survivor, if I am wrong before God for defending myself, I will at least be around to repent."

When in question--Smith&Wesson.

Are my views off-base. Someone help me with this. I also have a separate question I will post in the form of a scripture.

Luke 22:35-37
English Standard Version (ESV)
Scripture Must Be Fulfilled in Jesus

35 And he said to them, “When I sent you out with no moneybag or knapsack or sandals, did you lack anything?” They said, “Nothing.” 36 He said to them, “But now let the one who has a moneybag take it, and likewise a knapsack. And let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one. 37 For I tell you that this Scripture must be fulfilled in me: ‘And he was numbered with the transgressors.’ For what is written about me has its fulfillment.”

I have always had a question of concern about a Christian being armed. I know the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but this is speaking to a spiritual matter? Is there a different meaning with the aforementioned scripture? Is the Lord really saying that it is okay to be armed? And are we covered "Biblicaly" because the "laws of the land" allows it; i.e.,the Second Amendment; US Constitution.

Thanks for your help everyone

We have people running around where I live here in Los Angeles like the Night Stalker who are Satanists that relish in breaking into people's homes at night and then raping, torturing, and murdering the people who live in the homes. They enjoy their crimes and state their only regret (in the instances where they are caught by law enforcement) is that they can't continue committing those crimes.

The only way to stop these people from doing that to you and your family is with the threat of or execution of lethal force.

We have robbers here that will walk up on your driveway and rob you of everything you have on you. Sometimes they murder you and sometimes they don't. Often the firearms they carry are foreign made fully automatic weapons.

All of these criminals are big on gun control as it makes their crimes so easy to commit when law abiding citizens ability to defend themselves is degraded.

Gun control disarms people who follow laws, causes guns to go black market, and those who use them to exert power will still find a way to wield them. Further, it disarms a country whom's history has shown that protection from ruling authorities is necessary. Statistics show that more people die by cars than guns, let's outlaw them. Or knives. There is a hidden agenda for gun control and if you search carefully in this reply you'll find it.

In some ways we must be wise as serpents and gentle as doves. Few, if any of the media fueled events would have been stopped with stricter gun control laws. Jesus changes hearts, laws protect, but we need wisdom in this area.

Imagine a world that only government officials have firearms... that's where this trend is progressing. Government disguises first as Big Mama then later becomes Big Brother. And if we can't get clear on this together, we need to anyway, because we need to unify if we're going to stop polarizing effects of propaganda to make real positive change. Our "political eyes" need to focused in on reversing these disturbing generational trends that will impact our future progeny.

Time for us as a church to wake up and start making disciples OF nations. Maybe even starting with our own. Expanding His Kingdom in every sphere of influence we've been blessed access. And reaching down helping hands and leveraging resources with one another like His One Body should operate and infiltrate.

Obviously there is a difference. Guns in the hands of law abiding citizens lowers the murder rate in society. It's all there in the statistics. Therefore legitimate gun manufacturers are desirable to society while overwhelmed morticians (due to all the good people being disarmed while the bad ones find ways to be armed regardless of the law and exercise of government to the contrary) are not. Let the statistics show you the way since your feelings have impaired your ability to find it.

It is true that allowing honest citizens to conceal and carry a handgun has lowered the violent crime rates, including murder, in every single state that has done so. Property crimes did rise though as criminals changed from mugging people and purse snatching to burglary and petty theft.

Take away the fire arms from honest citizens means the criminals can do as they please with their firearms. Most illegal firearms are smuggled in from mexico.

I would like to note that recent killing in Boston had no use of guns. Bombs are illegal however, it didn't stop the bad guys from using them. What did they take these bad guys down with GUNS. The right to bear arms is our God given right.

Luke 22
[SUP]35 [/SUP]And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.
[SUP]36 [/SUP]Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

I'm okay with this bill being shot down, no pun intended. In fact I love it. Why? Let's see what it would've done:

1. Banned scary-looking weapons but still allowed similarly functioning weapons to continue to be purchased.
2. It wouldn't have made the ownership of the aforementioned guns illegal - even the scary-looking ones.
3. It would have made everyone do background checks on others before selling them a gun. You could say that this prevents gun crime if the person has already committed gun crimes and is looking to commit another. But it's just as likely they'd go buy or steal a gun off the black market once denied.
4. Let's say a law-abiding citizen decides to buy a gun to kill someone, and someone does a background check on them. Nothing shows up on their record, and they receive their gun. Then they go out and kill a bunch of people and then kill themselves. What good was this background check again?
5. This bill would not have made it illegal to own high capacity magazines - only to sell them. So let's say someone already owns a gun and high capacity clips and wants to go out and kill someone. What good would this bill have done?
6. Do criminals bent on murdering people care about obeying laws? No.

So what would this bill have done? Taken away the freedoms of law-abiding citizens. It would have done absolutely no good. And we already know that, because there was a previous law that had tried the same thing. And statistics showed that it failed. I tell you what, I think we should really focus on banning improvised explosive devices. I'm sure those snarky terrorists will be real intimidated by America's resolve. 'Merica!
