The first step in serving God is to believe on His Son, Jesus Christ, as your Savior.

The second step is surrendering yourself to Him to be only a vessel to glorify Him - believing that He lives in you, and will transform you for His purposes only. Read the scriptures to know Him. Ask for the Holy Spirit's fullness to begin changing you first, and then use you.

Next step is to pray with a listening ear, following his directions for the "next right thing to do".

If you abide in Him, you will bear much fruit. It is not a matter of your works - it is a matter of the Holy Spirit working through you with His works.
