Can someone who understands this topic enlighten me on soul ties and the various spirits that can be encountered?

Soul ties is a topic from deliverance. The bible mentiones that David and Jonathan had their souls knit together and is assumed to be a godly soul tie.

Demonic soul ties can be formed between two people who had had a sexual relationship. This means they are spiritually connected via a connection that allows the sharing of demons between the two. It is very simple to break a soul tie of this nature.

To break the soul tie, you must be a Christian first. Then Pray: "Lord Jesus I repent of having sex with (Name of person) and I ask for Your forgiveness, in Jesus name. Then state: "I break all soul ties between me and (name of person) in Jesus name. Lord Jesus I ask that You break off the soul tie on the other and destroy the soul tie, in Jesus name.

Soul ties can for in many other ways. People who have been in a cult can have a soul tie to that cult. Soul ties can also form by a strong emotion. To learn more there is a great book it is short but gives you a very good over view of soul ties. The book is called "Soul Ties & Legal grounds" by Jessica Jones.

danschance? lol what?
I am sure you doubt everything that I have said about soul ties. Yet she asked for a person to comment on them and I did.

I was once in a Yahoo Christian chat room when a man asked for help. He admitted he needed help with a sexual addiction and was willing to do anything to be free of his addiction to porn. I spent about 40 mins with him. I lead him in deliverance prayers to break soul ties of the sexual abuse he had from his uncle and soul ties to porn models.

Later he sent me an email that he was free of his addictions. He gave my email to members of his Christian porn support group and encouraged them to speak with me. Eight of them contacted me, to my surprise and seven of them became free of their porn addictions. One was not able to get free as her problems were sever. The things I shared with them were basic as I am not a deliverance minister.

One time after this I was chatting with a Christian lady and God spoke to me saying she had Multiple personality disorder. I had learned how to deal with this as well. As I attempted to call up a young alternate personality in her God spoke a name to me "Cheyenne" but when I asked this 8 yr old alter her name it was not Cheyenne. The following day I asked the core person who Cheyenne was and she said it was a girl in High School that had tormented her for years. I asked if she would be willing to forgive Cheyenne and she said yes. She also mentioned that had she not spoken with an 8 yr old part of her she would never of considered forgiving Cheyenne. After she forgave Cheyenne she, I also suggested she break soul ties to Cheyenne and she did. A week later I got a email from her stating that her bipolar disorder symptoms had decreased to the point she no longer need her meds.

So you can "lol" and mock me for my post about soul ties but proof of their existence is very real to me and to those who suffered with or because of them.

Soul ties arent a real thing.

Agreed. Where is the source material for any of this? Is there any citation or should we assume you made this all up entirely, danschance?

Mark 10:8
and the two will become one flesh.' So they are no longer two, but one flesh.

This sort of union is reserved only for marriage.
Done any other way is defiling the body.
Damage is done because it is written what God has joined let no man separate.
But when man or woman choose their own way over Gods, the sin itself is not just to God but to oneself.
It's not termed Soul tie in the bible. it says the two become one flesh.
But it also says within marriage they are both heirs to the kingdom together.
So an afterlife tie is made within the marriage covenant.
Sex without marriage just raises all sorts of havoc and confusion as to how God layed out the rules to be obeyed.

Study 1 Corinthians 7.

Take this scripture to heart: Hebrews 13:4
Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

Mark 10:8
and the two will become one flesh.' So they are no longer two, but one flesh.

This sort of union is reserved only for marriage.
Done any other way is defiling the body.

Isn't "flesh" somewhat different than a "soul"? And what part of that of that single verse supports "reserved only for marriage", "damage is done [when such a union is seperated]", "the sin is... to oneself", or any of the claims made by danschance (such as these ideas like a "demonic soul tie" and its simplicity/method of breaking)? You're reading quite a bit too much into a verse that says nothing more than "two become one".

And I'm not asking about the "afterlife tie" because the bible clearly says that this isn't the case. Remember the pharisees asking about the woman married to 7 men and how her relationship would continue when she arrived in heaven? Jesus said nothing about soul ties, and that very idea would make the pharisees' question relevant, contrary to Jesus' claim that it wasn't.

Christians believe too many things about sexual relationships without evidence. Forget the soul ties -- "havoc and confusion" would be very common considering how often sex happens outside of marriage. A legal agreement doesn't change sex itself or its consequences.

1 Corinthians 6
18
Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body.
19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

1. sin against ones own body
2. body temple of the spiritual holy spirit
3. honor God with your body

Do you read the bible much?

Reserved only for Marriage
Genesis 2:24
That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.

Oh sorry that was OT right
Wanna see it again....in NT
Matthew 19
5 and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, andthe two shall become one flesh

Ephesians 5:31
31 For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.

Wife being the key word, not special friend, friend with benefits, whore, prostitute, temptress, seductress or provocative woman who gives it up freely.
But Wife whom he is united to by a holy covenant issued by righteous decree of the Lord.

Yes, I do... but I don't read "between the lines". These verses talk about "sexual immorality", but do not define it. When you define it, you're assuming things that aren't there. These verses say nothing about "marriage only", consequences of sexual immorality ("damage is done"), or how its "sin to oneself" (it specifically names the Holy Spirit as the victim). None of the claims made above are backed up by these verses, especially -- and this is rather important to this thread -- any of the claims about "soul ties".

If you sin is there no damage done ?
Is there no repentance required?
Is there nothing to atone for?

Or do you believe Christ died so you could live how you see fit instead of how God see's fit.

Again, you're reading too much into this. "United to his wife" doesn't mean sex (and "becoming one" clarifies the uniting meant here). Nor does "be joined to his wife" imply sex. You're the one adding that. Most importantly, these verses say nothing about "only to one's wife". Are you even aware of why you hold these beliefs? Do you think you got them from reading the bible or from simply believing what others said that the bible says?

The Bible does not mention soul ties. Some claim David and Jonathon having their "hearts knit together" means a Godly soul tie but I put no stock in that theory.

I agree Danschance, I dont call it soul ties myself but I've seen the term and believe understand what people mean by it.
I've provided verse which dictate that there is in deed a union regardless if anyone chooses to acknowledge such. As well Paul called the two becoming one flesh a mystery so we know by this that the union is more than just the physical act.

Question to those who disagree.
If this union of becoming one flesh is outlined for husband and wife...would God permit us to engage in this union, thereby claiming the benefits of marriage without considering themselves married?

Thats like suggesting someone wanting the blessings of a believer but dont want to follow the Lords word

No, I don't believe that sin necessarily leads to "damage done". The bible commands, for example, that one ought not to mix cotton and linen. Does this lead to "damage done"? Obviously not. The same with eating shellfish, resting on a day other than the Sabbath, and a litany of other sins.

Nor do I believe that repentance is required or need for atonement. I'm an atheist, so sins against God are, in my opinion, hurting the feelings of a non-existent being. Since I don't believe in Hell, I clearly don't believe that atonement is necessary to avoid it. And also I do believe that I can live life how I see fit. What else can one do... live life in a way that they don't see fit? What is the benefit in that?

I believe in things with evidence, and you're still lacking it. Instead of asking rhetorical questions, perhaps you ought to "Google" what others have said about the reasons for Christian beliefs about sexual immorality so you can come back with reasoning.
