Just from an observational point of view here. After skimming through many of your posts I conclude that you view the words of Jesus over the writings of Paul? Which I do in some regards myself. But if this is true, are there anything that Paul writes about that you deem worthy enough to apply to your personal walk in God?
I believe in all of Paul’s writing. I don’t believe Paul contradicts Jesus and hence why we have this warning about his writings. 2 Peter 3:16

No one is saying that. The law continues. BUT those in Christ do not continue in the law.

"Or do you not know, brethren (for I speak to those who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives?"

"But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter."

"But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. 10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness."

And just so we're clear that the law includes the 10 commandments...

Paul wrote: "I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said, “You shall not covet.”"

The 10 Commandments...
#10 "“You shall not covet..."
So those in Christ can break Gods law but those who aren’t can’t??

There’s only two groups. Those in Christ keep His commandments John 14:15-18 through love and faith. 1John 5:3 Rom 3:31 because the saved lived differently than the lost. Rev 14:15 Rom 8:7-8

acts 13:42-44 Acts 18:4 so obviously didn’t end just as Jesus indicated Mat 24:20 Isa 66:23
Acts 13:42-44
And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.
43 Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.
44 And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.

Simple: the reason they preached to the Jews on the Sabbath was because they were all in one place.
But note: they were preaching to unbelievers in Christ. Unbelievers were still compelled by the law. Paul and Barnabas knew where to find the unbelievers... at the temple on the Sabbath.

Here he is again:

"And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks."

Obviously, the Lord was conserving Paul's time by preaching to the greatest number of people.

Until, you know, they stoned him in chapter 14. Then he left for Derbe.

No, those in Christ have less freedom. They are called to do only what they see their Father doing.

No. You're not interested. If you truly were, you would cede to my request. The reason you do not is because you don't actually know what is fully required of you in keeping commandments. You believe by setting apart a particular day and performing certain acts and refraining from others that you have kept the Sabbath commandment. At the same time you can't explain why God gave such a commandment or why the particular day is important or its relationship to creation the nation of Israel and the old covenant. Lastly, you can't explain the spiritual aspects of the law or how to perform the commandment in both the spirit and while walking in the Spirit.
I'm not judging you in this except as judgment involves discerning spiritual reality from what you have shared. But I have shared much of what is involved in actually obeying a commandment. And no one in and of themselves is able to keep any commandment. Like you, and everyone else, I'm incapable of keeping any commandment apart from walking in the Spirit. And I hardly am walking in the Spirit continually. By asking all the questions, I was attempting to show you the utter impossibility of living the life Christians are called to apart from Christ living in and through us. And as we grow in grace and the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ we experience the joy of the Lord as Christ fulfills the law through us.
I realize discussing such matters sometimes becomes intense and emotional, and offense can be taken. If this has been the case in our discourse, I sincerely apologize.
Cameron I knew your position, i have been reading your posts for a long time already, I did not want for us to argue, we have different views on the topic that is all, from my point of view the commandments are simple, with time it becomes easier to follow, in the case of the sabbath, it is a day to let go of your regular activities and concentrate on GOD and his teachings, prayer, giving thanks, ect... GOD know we have busy lives and we do need rest physically and spiritually, it frees time to think and worship GOD, why Saturday? because GOD asks for us to do so on that day, you know the verses in Genesis where GOD rested on the 7 day after the creation.

GOD wants us to be part of his family. We are all children of GOD, and he wants us to be HOLY as he is HOLY, it is through the Holy spirit that we receive that our hearts change and at a certain point you do want to follow his commandments because you have learned to know him, Love him, trust in him and do his will, for me this is what happened. Trust in God ask him the way and he will certainly answer you, sometimes in an unexpected way but he will let you know when the time is right. More good info in the opening post also to read carefully.

God didn't rest the 7th day because He was tired. He rested because He was finished. Creation was completed. But God could have created everything on day 1. Or He could have done it in 30 days. So there must have been purpose in choosing 6 days for creation and then instituting a day of rest. Understanding this is essential to understanding what the rest entails and how it is appropriated.
Personally, if someone feels that the Sabbath should be observed on a particular day, I believe for them to do otherwise would not be of faith, and therefore, sinful for them. But I have also found that those so disposed do not fully keep the day, neither enjoy the fulness of the benefits of it. I am, however, most grateful were are able to disagree amicably.

Amen! In regard to Acts 13:42-44, Paul's work here was evangelism. Notice that these were "unbelievers" in Christ before Paul preached to them. Yes they believed in the Jewish system, but the Bible says in Acts 14:1, that they BECAME believers proving Paul's work there was evangelism and not sabbath worship.

The Greeks were Jewish converts to Judaism known as proselytes. They practiced the law of Moses and kept the sabbath. The only Greeks that were in the synagogue would be these proselytes. These Greeks were certainly not Christians. Acts 13:43 "Now when the meeting of the synagogue had broken up, many of the Jews and of the God-fearing proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who, speaking to them, were urging them to continue in the grace of God." 44 On the next sabbath almost the whole city came together to hear the word of God. 45 But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy; and contradicting and blaspheming, they opposed the things spoken by Paul. 46 Then Paul and Barnabas grew bold and said, "It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken to you first; but since you reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles.

Acts 14:1 - "In Iconium they entered the synagogue of the Jews together and spoke in such a manner that a large number of people believed, both of Jews and of Greeks."

Acts 17:4 - "And some of them were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas, along with a large number of the God-fearing Greeks and a number of the leading women.

Acts 18:4 - "And he was reasoning in the synagogue every Sabbath and trying to persuade Jews and Greeks."

Yeah, the temples were the town centers. The Sabbath would have been the busiest days because people were not at work and because any self-respecting Jew would be at the temple.

Have you ever asked why YHWH would place such importance on the Sabbath? It must be important; he announced it at creation and repeated this requirement many times. Indeed, when speaking from the top of the mountain, God spent more time explaining the Sabbath than any other commandment. Why? Here are some thoughts.

It’s not about being lazy. The commandment includes the requirement for six days of work. We are created for work, yet God explains work is not our purpose. We are more than work.

We become set apart by honoring the Sabbath. The command was given to all, but by keeping that command we identify ourselves as God’s people, chosen by him through his unfathomable grace.

Keeping the Sabbath demonstrates trust. Placing our trust in his word, we accept our inability to exist on our own. We acknowledge our dependence on God.

On one day every week, we take the opportunity to remember and enjoy the beauty of creation and the joy of life God has given us. We pause to enjoy our relationships, specifically with our families, and spend glorious hours together in mutual love.

Finally, the Sabbath reflects a world to come. It reminds us of a future time when there will be no more pain, no more death, no more striving. God made a day of rest; we look forward to a time when we shall all rest forever; in the very presence of our creator.

It is our folly that we have so confused this simple gift from God.
I agree with all that you have said. In addition, the old and new covenants help us to find the proper use of the Sabbath. The old covenant had many rules about Israel's actions on the Sabbath, the total of which helped them worship and live on the Sabbath Day.

Such rules in their external form were for the nation of Israel as their national law.

However, the new covenant, which Jesus instituted, carries forward the inner principles of those old laws, while it impresses us with the new birth, which enables us to carry them out. For example, the requirement that worshipers under the old covenant were supposed to come to Jerusalem to worship has disappeared for the international church, but that we must worship together continues on.

Also, our need to worship God in spirit and in truth instead of with mere form, which leads to going through the motions without really thinking about it, is clearly spelled out by Jesus in the new form of that covenant that he instituted.

The remnant of Israel, that is, the small minority, followed the spiritual principles of the covenant looking ahead to the Messiah's coming.

Rest for God means completion. The rest is available to mankind because He finished. They do not need to create anything to finish creation nor is anything lacking that would make life in the creation better. So God instituted a day for man to cease from endeavor, recognize the God who had provided all these good things, but not because He needs anything from man but that man is best served and benefitted by his connection to God. God is most glorified in us as we are most satisfied in Him. This is why God walked each day with Adam and Eve. Having spent the day enjoying creation and the provision for every need, they would have opportunity to give expression of their gratitude to the One who made it all possible. But this occurred every day for Adam and Eve. That's why there was no need to give them a Sabbath commandment. Every day was a Sabbath until sin entered.
With this as a base, we can follow history until Christ, and then the work of the re-creation accomplished by Jesus and see the parallels between the original creation of man and the new creation of man in Christ and what place the Sabbath has had throughout history and its place today if you care to.

Yes, we need rest. God knows what's best for us. God rested on the seventh day, not because He needs rest as you probably know, but because man was made in His image and God always led by example, our example to follow 1 John 2:6. He rests with man on the Sabbath as a way of communion and to bless and sanctify us. Eze 20:12 Isa 58:13-14 Isa 56:1-7 because we can't sanctity ourselves. Many people forget the Sabbath is a commandment and it didn't go away in the NC. Gods faithful kept the Sabbath rest according to the commandment after the Cross. Luke 23:56 and after Jesus rose, not one mention that the Sabbath commandment changed in any way, because it didn't. Jesus would have told us personally if it did, as the Sabbath is the one commandment that reveals our Creator and Redeemer and He blessed and made holy and only He can reverse that, but doesn't Isa 56:1-7 Isa 66:23. I believe the Sabbath is like our tree of good and evil, the tree was more than a tree, just like the Sabbath is more than a day- it shows who our faith and allegiance is to. God said Remember- man says forget. Jesus said to live by every Word.

Thank you for your posts and contributions. It's refreshing. It's a remnant message these days to share what Jesus asked us to, to teach each other the commandments.

For something people claimed ended at the Cross there was a lot of Sabbath keeping going on in the scriptures. Scripture reveals the apostles kept every Sabbath. At minimum Acts was written 30 years after the Cross! For those who claim it was because the Jews were gathered together is the only reason- there is no scripture that states this, and we are told not to add what is not there Pro 30:5-6

Not only were Jews gathered on the Sabbath so were the gentiles to hear God's Word. The Gentiles specifically asked for more preaching the next Sabbath. If the Sabbath ended as people claimed that would have been a perfect opportunity for the apostles to teach them, we no longer keep the Sabbath. There is no scripture that says this because the apostles did not have the authority to change one dot or tittle from God's law Mat 5:18, nor would they as they were servants to God and obeyed and observed everything Jesus commanded of them Mat 28:18-20, and they observed every Sabbath according to scripture.

Acts 13:14
But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day and sat down.

Acts 13:27
For those who dwell in Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they did not know Him, nor even the voices of the Prophets which are read every Sabbath, have fulfilled them in condemning Him.

Acts 13:42
So when the Jews went out of the synagogue, the Gentiles begged that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath.

Acts 13:44
On the next Sabbath almost the whole city came together to hear the word of God.

Acts 15:21
For Moses has had throughout many generations those who preach him in every city, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath.”

Acts 16:13
And on the Sabbath day we went out of the city to the riverside, where prayer was customarily made; and we sat down and spoke to the women who met there.

Acts 17:2
Then Paul, as his custom was, went in to them, and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures,
(same custom as Jesus Luke 4:16)

Acts 18:4
And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and persuaded both Jews and Greeks.

The 10 Moral Commandments say to observe the Shabbat but tells us not to be judged over it.
16 Let no one therefore judge you in eating or in drinking or in respect of a feast or of a new moon or of sabbaths
What do you think this verse means?
Are we not to be judged because we are not observing shabbat?
Are we being judged because we observe it when it's no longer necessary?
How is Paul aligning with God's 10 Commandments in this verse?

In Jeremiah 31:33, the New Covenant involves God putting the Mosaic Law in our minds and writing in on our hearts.
Oh really? The sermon on the mount makes it clear that the Law of Moses is not the Law of God that He writes on our hearts. If you live by that Law, you live in the shadows. And you will die, because the Law makes no one righteous and breaking one means breaking them all. Try reading your Bible, the New Testament, instead of the obsolete old covenant.
