This is not a Calvinist post, it isn't pre-trib, after trib, no trib post. This isn't a my denomination, your denomination, that denomination post. This is a post about the Gospel, the Hope, the Good News that the lost need to hear. Now!! So how do we go about fulfilling the great commission?

The dearest thing to my heart is evangelism, outreach, how do we bring in the lost. The more I read the BDF the more hopelessness I feel. It's like we feel God doesn't want anyone in heaven. Shoot if it was up to the BDF we wouldn't let half of US in and we claim to know the Lord!! Someone said "The older I get, the more people I'm letting into heaven".

Click if you know the old song, Jesus Saves. Give me a thumbs up in your post if you know the song.

We have heard the joyful sound:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!

Spread the tidings all around:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Bear the news to ev'ry land,
Climb the steeps and cross the waves;

Onward! 'tis our Lord's command;
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!

Waft it on the rolling tide:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!

Tell to sinners far and wide:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Sing, ye islands of the sea;
Echo back, ye ocean caves;
Earth shall keep her jubilee:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!

Fourth verse

4 Give the winds a mighty voice:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!

Let the nations now rejoice:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Shout salvation full and free,
Highest hills and deepest caves;

This our song of victory:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!

Most of those verses I can sing from memory. Let's see if we can keep this on topic. You are meeting someone who has never heard of the Bible, or Jesus, the Holy Spirit. They have no concept of God. They won't understand your church talk and your cliches. You can't quote a Bible verse, they don't know it. What are you going to say to give that person hope? How are you going to share the Good News and tell them Jesus saves. Not the Calvinistic way, the Baptist way, the KJV way. It's just you and someone who needs to know how to get to heaven. What do you say? Share with me the Good News as if I had never heard any of it before. Let's start!

The good news is literally what Jesus came to preach to the world

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, Because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, And recovering of sight to the blind, To set at liberty them that are bruised,

To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭4:18-19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

we should remember the bad news first so we can hear the good

The Bad news for every sinner

“Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.”
‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭18:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the good news of the gospel

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I just see so many lofty words, so many arguments, so many saying one person or another is going to hell. We have people believe only one Bible will save you, some that say if you don't know the Greek, Hebrew, Klingon version, you're not saved. So that's why it hit me to write this thread. Without all the big words and ideas, how would you explain to someone who never heard the Gospel how to be saved? How would you break it down? There are people in churches today that are as lost as if the never stepped foot inside the building. So that's why I asked, tell me how to be saved.

“So that's why I asked, tell me how to be saved.”

“All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

"Precisely the way I have been doing the past decade...sharing with
the multitudes that have darkness of the heart. One on one, as I have counselled
with them, I share my story of how God's inspired love and wisdom has changed by life,
now for over two decades. Being "saved" from what, perhaps that is out of the jurisdiction
of the man mind. I have been delivered from my old life...here in the now. Thank God and Amen"

I am done with this subject."

No one is asking you to prove anything. It was a simple ask, how do you lead a person to Christ. This whole thread should be full of people giving testimony of how they have led someone to Christ. How in the real world do you share the Good News. Seemed like a simple task. smh

What are you going to say to give that person hope?
Here are a few questions for someone who knows nothing about the Gospel:

1. Do you know why Christians celebrate Easter? Answer: Not really.

2. Is Easter about the resurrection of Christ? Answer: I believe so.

3. What happened before Christ was resurrected? Answer: I believe He was crucified.

4. Do you know why He was crucified? Answer: Not really.

5. Would you like to know why He was crucified? Answer: Yes. I would.

Well there is your opening to share the Gospel. But if he says: "Not really," then there is no point going any further at this time. But most people are generally curious.

There is no one who does not know about Easter, since even the stores make a big deal out of it. So that could be a good way to open a conversation even if the person is a Muslim or a Hindu or any religion. This is a long way from "giving hope" but that comes later.

You won't find the message for eternal salvation in Matthew, Mark, Luke or John. One can only be saved by reading and understanding Paul's letters. This is why so many soul winners us the Romans road as a basis for leading one to salvation.

This is an excellent post. Christians should meet people where they are at and speak in terms they can relate to.

It is not a joke. "The Romans Road" is a good presentation of the Gospel in a nutshell. So if you are not familiar with it, get familiar. But the OP wanted something more basic and the Romans Road uses actually Scriptures. But that does not mean that it could still not have an impact. Quite the opposite.

It's not a joke that the message of eternal life cannot be fou d in the gospel Jesus sent it to the world for salvation before befire oaul then later was converted to Christianity and became one of jesus witnesses of the gospel of the kingdom to all nations ?

That's one of the most misinformed and hilarious takes on Christianity I've ever heard in my life remover everything God said will save us , and then wait a few years u til Paul is converted to Christianity as one of jesus servants and witnesses and then somehow design " Romans road " and no one can be saved otherwise ? Brother you k kw better than that go back and read what he said to me
