SHOCK: Planned Parenthood Points to Bible to Justify Abortions!

The largely government-funded abortion provider, Planned Parenthood, is now issuing a “pastoral letter” to prospective abortion clients that attempts to use the Bible to justify abortion.


The “pastoral letter” says:


“The truth is that abortion is not even mentioned in the Scriptures—Jewish or Christian—and there are clergy and people of faith from all denominations who support women making this complex decision.”


It reads:


The decision to have an abortion is personal. Though your reasons may be complicated and private, you’re not alone. As religious leaders from a number of religious traditions, we’re here to
support you in your decision.


Many people wrongly assume that all religious leaders disapprove of abortion. The truth is that abortion is not even mentioned in the Scriptures—Jewish or Christian—and there are clergy and people of faith from all denominations who support women making this complex decision.


The beliefs of each person are deserving of respect, and each person deserves care and compassion. No one should be allowed to force their faith teachings on anyone else.


We believe this decision is yours, made with your doctor and anyone else you choose to bring into the conversation, such as a spouse, partner, parent, or clergy person. …


God loves you and is with you no matter what you decide. You can find strength, understanding, and comfort in that love.

We as Christians must stop putting the aspect of God's love as His only aspect. Evil has and will continue to take that one dimensional view of God ran with it. There is an Eternally Righteous God that many need to hear about. I understand this view may be some push from the "hell fire and brimstone" way of thinking but the pendulum has swung too far the other way. My brothers and sisters, let us present the Holy God of the Bible to a lost and hurting world.

Where's the shock? A secular abortion foundation has found religious leaders to support their cause. It's not even anything new that some pastors support abortion. Surprised this wasn't done sooner, if anything.

drett, here in the states, the people who run this and other organizations do not consider a fetus to be alive. it is just a lump of tissue to them. so that is how they sell their " ideas".

What I wonder is, who are these "religious leaders" that tell girls it is okay to have an abortion? Paid actors? I know the money generated buys the lies of the people selling abortions so I guess it is only logical to assume these "religious leaders" are bought.

It is shocking, at least to me, that what I am hearing abortionists say the same things many Christians say about God, that He loves you no matter the moral choices you make, that He is much more concerned with love and less concerned with morality. No wonder these kids are so confused.

I don't think so, we don't need to go back to a "fire and brimstone" message. We need to stick with grace, and God's love. That Jesus came to save the world, not condemn it. The error here is that they are using grace as a justification for sin, which no grace preacher teaches. Grace is not a justification to sin, the Word says, "Sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but grace." Grace frees people from sin, it does not promote it. Grace teaches us...

I don't think so, we don't need to go back to a "fire and brimstone" message. We need to stick with grace, and God's love. That Jesus came to save the world, not condemn it. What i am saying is that teaching hell fire and brimstone is one end of the spectrum and teaching God's grace without morality is the opposite end of the spectrum. I believe in our society the pendulum has swung too far to antinomianism. (Thank you AgeofKnowledge for the correct term) Ben, look at the scripture you posted, it proves my point that we can't give ground to sinners to save them, we are to live righteously, loving others, but pointing them, all the while, to God's morality.

Ummm..... if memory serves me right, it was hell and brimstone preaching that kept
women from having abortions. As a matter of fact there was less sexual activity with
hell and brimstone preaching. Okay, so someone is going to come on and say .....
"but they used clothes hangers to abort themselves or went to back alley doctors."
Exactly... they did, but not the amount of people that swallow the 'grace' teachings
in Church today.

Sorry, I didn't mean to take away from your thread.... but I get very upset at the use
of the word "grace" for everything man and woman do to cover their sins.

Grace is to be for the repentant sinner. Not for the people to appease their sinful
appetites. JMO.

20But I have this against you, that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, and she teaches and leads My bond-servants astray so that they commit acts of immoralityand eat things sacrificed to idols.

It is written that the Ministers, Pastors, religious leaders will be lead astray by this Spirit, and she will convince them to commit acts of immorality. To me this simply means that the Church is going to open her doors to accept immoral sins, such as Homosexuality, Abortion (murder) more and more the church is falling under this Spirit, and they missed it by interpreting this "immorality" as only a sexual immorality, I think its far more than that.

The Lord has given you a very wise word to share with all of us. I have studied the
different spirits that work in the Church.. and it is good that you show the spirit of
Jezebel is more than a 'woman' ..... I especially like your explanation regarding the
variety of sinful acts in the lives of many. J~K~2

Politics aside... I don't know what you think of Mike Huckabee, but he is pushing for
Right to Life and to bombard Washington with the amount of people who want to
do away with the abortions... I don't know how it will all come out. We know there
are some girls, ladies, and women, who no longer chose to use that as a method
of birth control. How many babies lives have been taken before their time....
I know one lady who had 3 abortions and to this day she is haunted by it. She is
beautiful Christian now, but she never did get over what she did. No one likes
to tell the girls that down the road it will haunt them in one form or another. Mental,
physical, side effects. May we pray for those who are hurting from giving in to this
and ask God to heal them in their spirits. Psalm 103...
