Should an adult be made to do chores?

18 is just a number, and a somewhat infinitesimal one at that; I don't feel it is reasonable grounds to get out of contributing to your household, especially if you're dependent.

As for spankings, that's a [subjective] method of discipline I have no comment on. ;)
 
That paints a funny picture... any teen getting spanked sounds funny...
That and I think hitting any teen in any way just creates hostile feelings in teens, and causes problems in relationships between parents and children...
There are more efficient ways to give a teen consequeces...
