"Go to the ant, O sluggard, Observe her ways and be wise, Which, having no chief, Officer or ruler, Prepares her food in the summer And gathers her provision in the harvest. How long will you lie down, O sluggard? When will you arise from your sleep? “A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to lie down”— Your poverty will come in like one who walks (a vagabond), And your need like an armed man with a shield." (Proverbs 6:6-11 NASB)
A liberal or progressive thinking individual would do well to consider the way of life of an ant when wanting to impose their philosophy upon society. Taking heed of the simplicity of this little insect would enable them to act, speak, and think right even if they’re “left”. (leftists)
Ants, while moving in line, have impeccable communication with the other ants. Together they build their climate controlled home like world-renowned engineers. Ants are humble leaders and followers so important tasks can be completed. They have no designated legislator, magistrate or arrogant politicians to tell them every move to make, how to think, or the handout they should receive, but rather they function on their own to produce well.
In spite of its extremely small size, the brain of an ant enables it to learn and react to its surroundings. It knows the order of things, how to make things happen, and how to find objects needed to survive. Kind of like a red-blooded American who knows how to be free and responsible. Harmful debris in food is filtered out before it enters the esophagus in an ‘infra-buccal’ pocket and then empties the waste in a designated area. There are no “earmarks”.
Obstacles are not a problem with an ant. It goes around, under, or over it so the work doesn’t cease. This flexibility makes for comfort. Ants are alert to provide its colony what is needed such as the first ten amendments of the American Constitution inform us. In the warmth of the sun it patiently gathers food for the winter when food is not readily available. Patience relaxes the ant in testing conditions such as a person would be as a believer in Christ Jesus.
The antennae are the most important organ an ant possesses giving them the ability to investigate all things. The ant retracts the antennae in dangerous situations when it knows it must fight. They are alarmed when danger to their welfare approaches and are automatically in the “battle mode” as we should be when enemies of our American liberty threaten our freedom. If one ant is crushed the entire colony declares war and is ready to fight.
Young ants tend to the queen ant and brood within the safety of the nest. Older ants hover nearer to the surface of the nest. Nearer to the end of its life, the older ants will leave the safety of the nest to forage outside. It makes sense for them to be out in the dangerous world because they are experienced. A novice doing a job that takes experience always leads to destruction.
