The cross of Christ did not put away evil, it dealt with the sin of man that separated him from God. All sin was crucified and buried through the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. That was a judicial act motivated by the love of God when the Father sent his Son to be crucified. This present evil world under the control of the evil one (the prince and power of the air & the god of this world system) is motivated by evil (poneros) through magnifying sin and iniquity within the heart and practices of those who are of this world of which we were called out from. Evil has a doctrine and unfruitful work that does not recognize the sacrifice and blood of Christ that has crucified and put away sin.

Love covers a multitude of sin, but evil is motivated to expose sin (not convict) to discredit the blood of Christ, the work of the cross and slander the people who commit such sin. This is how the mystery of iniquity operates in this present evil world system in which we live. The gospel is motivated by the love of God with the message that Christ was crucified for our sin and suffered the wages of our sin through death and the shedding of his own blood. Evil does not recognize this act of God's mercy upon the human race and does everything in its evil power structure to take away from this and substitute the pleasures in this life and all kinds if diverse lusts to involve people through the flesh.

Today we face a network of indulgences of the flesh motivated by evil all over the world. Our refuge is that Christ has overcome the world and through Him we overcome the wicked one, but for those who are in unbelief, they need to light of the gospel to shine unto them that Christ has put away sin and has made a way to overcome evil.

The concept of the cross has originated from and Egyptian's symbol of two crocodiles that shared the same stomach (Desires). And Jesus had said in Matthew 12:50" For whoever does the will (The same desires) of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother”, and which that has separated ourselves from God, because our desires has became the same desires of the evil ones. But if we try to connect our stomach back with God's stomach, we will be persecuted by the evil one.

John 3:14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,

In Akan symbolism there is a design of crossed crocodiles, two joined crocodiles that share the same stomach. You can find the description at the Akan Cultural Symbols Project by scrolling down the page of Akan Political Beliefs. I have always been particularly fond of this as a symbol for the competing interests of constituents in a democracy. FUNTUMFUNAFU DENKYEM FUNAFU – JOINED CROCODILES Symbol of UNITY IN DIVERSITY, DEMOCRACY, and UNITY OF PURPOSE The symbol is also referred to as odenkyem mmemu – Siamese twin crocodiles joined at the stomach. From the proverb: Funtumfunafu, denkyemmfunafu, won afuru bomu nso wodidi a na worefom efiri se aduane ne de ye di no mene twitwi mu. Literal translation: Two headed crocodiles fight over food that goes to a common stomach because each relishes the food in its throat. This symbol, in essence, depicts the Akan notions about the inherent difficulties of reconciling individual and group interests in a democratic system. https://crossedcrocodiles.wordpress.com/about

“Did you know that, when facing Pharaoh, it is not Moses that throws down his staff; it is his brother Aaron and, according to the original Hebrew, it did not turn into a snake but a crocodile? Since the Egyptians worshipped the crocodile god – Sobek, when Aaron’s crocodile swallowed up the Egyptian crocodiles, Pharaoh understood that the God of Israel was more powerful than his entire pantheon. All this is lost if the Hebrew word ‘tanin’ is mistranslated as ‘snake’ instead of ‘crocodile.’” http://claudemariottini.com/2010/03/22/moses-and-his-crocodile/

An interesting, highly intellectual interpretation of the symbol of the cross,
but nonsense, nonetheless.

Sometimes a piece of wood is a crocodile,
sometimes it's 'just' a piece of wood...
in this case it's 'just' a piece of wood. (Gal 3:13)

I can say someone is evil for doing something wrong or sinful and be grammatically correct. All evil you can point out in this world stems from a sinful wrong action and or bad thought. God did not create waves of evil or evil people. The devil did not crop up out of the ground as an evil being. Lucifer had chosen to think and do evil on one particular day. Adam and Eve were not created evil, either. They were created to be good. However, Adam and Eve were not created perfect and holy like God, though (Hence, the reason why we need Jesus Christ). For they had the capacity to choose evil. This was necessary in order for true love to exist. For true love is when two parties both choose of their own free will to love each other.

But evil or sin did not exist in the universe until Lucifer and Adam both rebelled.

Seems like one of those apples to oranges moment....both are fruit! And if they both have worms they both equate to bad fruit!

As for sin or evil still existing today vs. Jesus dying for the sins of the entire world:

Well, sin is paid for, but it each person must apply God's forgiveness personally within their life. For example: Let's say you got into financial debt with various credit card companies; And a family member cuts you a check or gives you some cash to pay it off. Your family member says your debt is paid. You don't have to pay me back. It is a free gift of your debt in being paid. Well, that is until you take that money and give it to your credit card companies. However, let's say you decide to spend that money on something fun that you always wanted instead. You would not be be accepting that money as the gift it was intended for --- Which was to pay off your credit card debt.

Edit Correction:

First sentence should say,

Well, sin was paid for at the cross and the punishment of sin and death was defeated by his resurrection. These things were done as a free gift and they exist within the person of Jesus Christ. So one has to apply Jesus Christ to their life by asking for the Lord to forgive you of your sin and by accepting Him as your Savior. In other words, in order for God's gift to be applied to you, you need to accept it.

Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

The point is that if A=B and B=C then C=A

That doesn't really mean anything unless you can provide real world examples letting us know the difference between something that is evil versus say something that is sinful.

I say this because Jesus used real world examples to illustrate spiritual truth.

This is hilarious and for sure is true......HAH!

OK,
Show me something that is evil that is not sin.
Show me a sin that is not evil.

OK,
Show me something that is evil that is not sin.
Show me a sin that is not evil.

Good luck with that as he will find a way to twist something or use his famous unbiblical quote...(in other words).....!

Not to mention...Comparing spiritual with spiritual to come to conclusions!

Show me a sin that is not evil.

Matthew 12:11 He said to them, “If any of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not take hold of it and lift it out?

They are disobeying the laws of God, but it isn't an evil act. It is an act of righteousness.Like Job, he didn't obeyed the laws that says that if anyone of your family or clan disobey any of God's laws and which that is a sin against God, shall be cut off from the vine; but Job loved his children that he didn't obeyed the laws, because of an righteous act.

Brother old hermit, this is just something to consider,as I never tell anyone the way it is myself, that would be foolish because as we all know,in part, how can we ever revel whole truth to another?( 1 cor 13:12) To me brother there is no question as to who occured first, noticed I said who, and not what.

Jesus brought love, the enemy brought evil. And what is evil one might ask? Evil is unbelief! And the result of such evil, is sin! Let us look in the scripture for just 2 examples of this. ( gen 2:16-17) here the Lord tells Adam what will happen to him,if he ever eats from the tree of good and evil. He tells Adam there will be a result from not believing in what I have told you!

And why would one not listen? God who created you,and you know this! How could one not believe what is told him? After this Adam himself gives names to all the birds and animals,so we sure know Adam is very smart! ( gen 3:1-7) The enemy brings evil, which is unbelief! Saying in verse 4 God lied to Adam! Adam was with Eve when she did eat,in fact Eve gave Adam the fruit, and he ate( verse 6-7)

Eve was decieved by the serpent,I always wondered after she was created why Adam did not tell her what God told him about the tree in the first place? And then!! Why would he ever eat,or why would he not stop Eve from eating!! Was this because he never believed God to start with?

It seems very clear to me that this was the exact reason! From evil=unbelief, comes sin, the action taken from ones own belief,or unbelief! For all sin begins in ones own mind first. Verse 17 of gen 3 Then to Adam he said because you have listened to your wife, and have eaten from the tree which I commanded you saying,YOU shall not eat from it!

Now let us fast forward a bit into the new Covenant, and see what the Lord says about falling away because of an unbelieving heart!( heb 3:12-19!!) There is no rest in evil( heb 4)and evil gives birth to sin itself. verse 14!! For we have become partakers of Christ,IF WE hold fast the BEGINNING of our assurance FIRM until the end!

Unbelief provokes a response by God himself! ( verse 16) and they were not able to enter because of unbelief! verse 19!( col 3:25!!) In my own life of a tender 61 years,i have learned the hard way,his truth. One day holy Spirit said to me what is on the back of the quarter you have in your pocket?

As I went to look to see,Holy Spirit said, you see,one will never understand until one looks for himself! Many of my children look only upon the side they choose to see,as I am most loving, with great grace, with tender compassion! But I the Lord am also fair and just!

For does not my Word also say that whatever a man sows that shall he also reap? Do you think because you say you believe upon me,that that is enough without any fruit showing you believe me??( matt 13:23!!) Was Abraham called my friend because he said he believed? Or was he called my friend by preforming the only work I have told my children to preform in there belief!!( john 6:28-29)

Indeed there is a great difference to me from words and deeds!( james 1:22) And remember this always my son,for whether my children believe me or not, they will always become accountable to me from what they do, because they say they believe!( matt 12:36-37) There is security in me,but my word never said because one says they believe, that one can do anything they wish to now!!

For those who understand what grace truly is understands this!!( titus 2:11-14!!!) verse 12 grace instructs us!! Grace acts upon ones belief in me!! This brothers and sisters did not come from the minds of any man to me,this came by Holy Spirit who lives true in us who truly believe in him!( 1 john 2:27) This you consider for yourself,i sure have! Blessing all!( psalms 27:13!!)

Are you suggesting that sin and evil are different?

Matthew 12:11 He said to them, “If any of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not take hold of it and lift it out?

They are disobeying the laws of God, but it isn't an evil act. No, they were not disobeying the law in extending mercy on the Sabbath, even to the sheep. This was the point that Jesus is making.
