So I committed sin, this an ongoing sin. I prayed for forgiveness immediately after sinning. How do i get comfort of knowing God forgave me? Most of the day I feel fearful.. I did accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior but sometimes I continue to sin like my old ways. I don;t want to live like my old self.. How can I fell relieved that God forgave me of that sin? I repeat praying for forgiveness more than once for the same sin just to make sure its been settled. But is it bad if you do it repetitively in a day? I know God's not deaf & I know He did die for all my sins on the cross. :confused::confused::confused:
 
It's a choice you have to make and accept. There is no magical formula.
As far as not able to stop sinning even Paul (who wrote most of the NT) said 'i do what i do not want to do'. You will always struggle. You still strive, but you will never stop.
 
SIN will never leave us as long as we r on Earth. In a way Sin is what makes us human and God knew that. The most important thing God want from us is not for us to drawn in our sins. Sinning isnt the only way to drawn in it. If u asked God to forgive your sins he will and he will put u back up from drawning in it, but if u keep thinking and praying for the same sin u will slip away from his grip and fall again to a point u just give up and drawn forever. Even when u call out to him again and he reach to grab your arm u will let go because u think it an endless cycle.
 
It's not, sin won't have power over you anymore, once your conscious to what's happening, you won't want to, and it gets easier and easier, as time goes, it's like, how many times can you fail the same test ? You will either wise up to it and be deceived no more, or start falling back in slumber like a lot of the world, you still might get angry if someone spills milk on your laptop or something, get over it, repent, move on...

Hey brother. Not to worry, God forgives you, I am sure. I do not know of anybody or anything more forgiving and merciful than God.
As for the sin part, I too struggle with old ways and what feels like endless repentance. So you are not alone.
