Well, the long and short is that no one (not even you yourself or me) knows themselves as fully as God knows us. He can do all things, and if we allow Him, all things are possible through Christ who'll give us the strength (and wisdom, and change, etc).
Paul, for instance, was a murder and hater of Christians. God turned Him around into one of the champions of the faith. Lee Strobel was a devoted atheist that set out to disprove God's existance, and ended up becoming a Christian because of the overwhelming evidence He found in/for the Biblical witness. He wrote a book about that whole journey called "The Case for Christ."
There are hundred, thousands, or even more possible examples I could give you of all the unbelievable or seemingly impossible things God can do, will do, and has done. It's really all hingent on us. Will we listen? Will we let Him work in, on, and through us?
I often wonder why God would call a wretch like me to be a minister, but He's loved and chosen me despite all my flaws, failures, and frequent mistakes. You see, similar to Peter, who just went ALL IN and would either mess it up royally or hit the nail on the head, God equips the people He calls. He doesn't expect anyone to have it all together and then call them. In fact, no one would be called, because no one can 'get it together' without Jesus. We need His Spirit to teach, guide, change, and help us in every aspect of our thoughts, feelings, actions, choices, and lives.
