Hi
@VineyardsOfEngedi, I'm sure you'll be a great parent since you already have Jesus in your life, I was raised by my mom alone with no support from my dad, So I will based this on my life, It would be easier financially if the father will help support you, I know this can be complicated, maybe you wanted to do it by yourself or the other party doesn't want to help BUT if everyone agrees this would be a great help for you and your child/children in the long run, my mother did not have time for us bec she had to work to support us too, so in the process we did not develop a close relationship with her as we grow older, when teenage life comes that would be the hard part, teens can be very difficult to handle and to correct esp if there were no guidance from the parents, and we're not christians at that time, I am not generalizing BUT there is a tendency for the kids to be neglected if the mother is also doing a job that the father is supposed to do, also from the children's side/perspective, make sure that they know what is going on around and explain to them nicely what happened because at some point they would want to know, most important is to pray together with the kids and be open to one another, the assurance of love from both parents are very significant esp when the kids are still young. BUT in the case that the father can not provide, and is not in the picture at all then just make time for the kid/s, be honest and truthful and pray together, let them know that they are loved even with a single parent, everything will do fine as long as you have God in your life. I hope this helps. God bless!
