Well then at least some Americans are normal :)
I don't know what the Canadians get up too but I visited a family in Boston a few years ago, they'd also been American their whole lives, and they served spaghetti/pasta noodle lasagna, and it was very strange indeed, like some weird baked spaghetti bolognaise.

At first I thought it was lasagna noodle sheets, but it wasn't.
But I generally go with flat lasagna sheets, like most people.

My mom makes lasagne with spaghetti noodles, and she's half Italian.

Oh........wait..........she's also half Polish. That explains a lot...........hehehehe :D.

Isn't lasagna made with spaghetti noodles... just Spaghetti?

No, because spaghetti isn't baked.

When people make pseudo-lasagne using spaghetti noodles, they basically layer the sauce and meat between clumps of spaghetti noodles, cover it in cheese and bake it in the oven.

Mathew metioned it earlier, and I too have experience this weird concoction - it was wrong. You either have spahetti or lasagne, combining both is just odd, it doesn't work, you can't cut it, and, well, it just disturbs me!

So, to clarify, spaghetti is the long thin noddles, cooked, served with the bolognaise sauce and/or meatballs on top.

Lasagne is the flat pasta sheets layered with meat sauce and bechemel sauce, and BAKED in the oven.

Comprehedo?
