Does your church have an adult singles ministry? If no, would you participate if there was one? If yes, what is your program like?

Mine doesn't. Adult (over say 30ish) single ministries are difficult to manage. Church should be a place to find God and/or nurture your relationship with God. Many adult singles programs turn into dating services. My church's response is for us adult singles to integrate with other groups at church. Not the answer I want, but I still really like my church. I am not perfect, my church is not perfect.

I've never been around a Christian singles ministry where anything spectacular happened.
So in my opinion, it probably doesn't matter much if you have a ministry like that or not.

However, maybe some other people have had much different, and much better experiences.

My church does not. The mega-church a bit north of me does, but when I went before, it seemed really meat-markety. That was their Thursday night program. I've recently discovered that their Sunday singles classes aren't like that, so I've been attending my church first, then occasionally going to the other church.

Well...yeah. You shouldn't be surprised that any singles group would turn into a dating service of sorts. Just like the majority of singles who gather in this forum would like to find someone, people at church in a singles group would as well. I don't think there is anything wrong with that.

My church doesn't have a singles group, but there is a Bible study for singles. I've never been to it, so I'm not sure how it works. From what I gather, there are only about 10 or so people in it.

There is a church in my area that has the reputation of being the Christian meat market. They say folks go there to meet someone. I've been there...they seem legit on a scriptural level. It's a HUGE church though so I don't know how folks actually meet there.

I'm not sure if what you would call the group at my church a singles ministry, but it's a young adults group that meets every second week and it's ages 18-30. 90% of the people there aren't married and my guess is that about 50% or less are in relationships. So the singles dominate! That's super cool because usually the groups I've been to consisted of mostly couples or people in the midst of engagements. However, I don't find it "meat markety", although I can't speak for everybody there. They all seem pretty laid back.

I once went to a "game night" event with some sort of Christian social group. I thought I was just going to meet a few interesting people, play some board games and go home, but no....

The evening started off with some sort of relational therapist guest speaker. It rubbed me the wrong way because the message I got was that there is something wrong with you if you are single, which I do not believe....AT ALL! Then in chatting with this bunch, I found that these were the most unkempt, socially inept people. It was a horrible evening.

I've been to a young adults group where this one guy locked onto me, ignored everybody around him and asked me 100 questions about myself. He was much older than me and I think he was what you called "socially inept". I felt bad for him... but it was awkward to say the least. :S

I am the Singles ministry in my church. I minister to every one of the singles in my church when I talk to myself in the bathroom mirror.

"Because you're good enough, smart enough, and doggone it..."
