So you are saying according to God's Word Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; these were never given the opportunity to hear the gospel so God lied.

I never said that.. I simply asked why would an omniscient, loving, merciful god create people knowing that they will, by their own free will, go to hell.

The only scriptures that come to mind would be:John 10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.John 10:26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

That doesn't answer the question at all I'm afraid.

If God is going to burn Billions of sinners in Hell as some Christians preach, then I would say God doesn't love the sinners.

God loved the sinners they just chose not to love Him back and the wages of sin is death. Nothing to do with if God loved the sinners or not it was their free will choice to make. They chose badly. God still loved them as He sent Jesus to die for their sins too.

What about all those Muslims in the Middle East , the Hindus in India, and those whatevers in China?
Is it fair to just burn them up for all eternity?
Doesn't that seem cruel?

Christians have a commission to go and spread the gospel of Jesus. Are we doing our job/commission? People have a choice and there are lots of Bibles out there to be read and lots of Christians spreading the gospel.

All I know in the Old Testament God wipe out nations that didn't serve Him. This is one the reason the Lord sends Missionaries to give all nations the opportunity to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ: Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Then you have people like Jonah sent to warn a nation, ends up in a belly of a fish because he didn't want to obey God, after gives the warning the people of that nation change their hearts and turn to God and Jonah is upset because God didn't destroy them......Go figure.......God saves too and gives warnings even when the Christians are dragging their feet.... Watch out for BIG FISH.....

I wonder how exactly this makes you feel good about this situation. Even with the work of missionaries, there are billions of people over the last 2,000 years who have never heard of Jesus Christ, God, or salvation at all in their entire life. They had no option on the table to repent and follow Jesus because they had never heard of Jesus. They didn't serve God because they didn't know there was a God to serve. And all these unfortunate souls get a one way ticket to hell, all because they lost the cosmic lottery and didn't get born into a society where Jesus and the message of the cross was known. So be thankful that you were born in 20th century America. Just imagine if you were born in 16th century China or 18th century Japan. You would have had no chance. I mean absolutely no chance. And you're reward for such an unlucky birthing spot is an eternity of torment in hell. But hey, praise God, He is good and just and worthy of our praise...

You got to remember that it is God doing the judging and how sure are you they end up in hell?

Recently was eating with my husband and there was a red pepper in the food I said to him don't eat that it is really hot....What did he do? Yep put it in his mouth and bit down....The look of shock and awe was certainly not surprising to me I had given him a warning that he willingly chose to ignore..... This is called FREE WILL to make a choice on your own....God didn't create them to go to hell they chose to do it....God gave/gives warnings just like I did to my husband.... When will we learn to heed the warnings? Don't think my husband will ever bite down on a Chinese red pepper again..... You have to learn to trust and obey.....it is for our own good.... Not God's fault...But Our Choice.

But if god is omniscient then he would know before hand what choices people would make and he still creates them knowing full well they would go to hell. Is that loving?

They could have made a different choice they didn't.....How is that God not loving? Would you rather be forced to serve someone or would you like to have a choice in the matter? God does not force you or anyone to love Him. So a better question would be why would God even bother to create anything that would not love Him? We are the created not the creator.

Regardless of the choice someone makes. God is all knowing, so he would know who would choose what. Again I ask why would a loving, merciful god create someone who he knows is going to end up in hell for eternity? You can re word it all you like. It still amounts to the same.

some people seem to think God will condemn people to hell
while those folks are pleading with Him...begging for faith.

nope. those people will be thumbing their noses at Him still,
refusing to repent...

Hello ColinCat,

This is an excellent question. I doubt that anyone can answer it directly, because it deals with an aspect of God that our finite minds can not understand. Simply put, we can not comprehend how God can give each person the choice to accept or reject Him while He knows what choice they will make without having predestined them to make it.

The Word answer's many questions---about God's nature, free will, and consequences of our actions. But it does not directly answer this question.

However, I do believe the answer to your question is available to any person who seeks it in TRUTH.

It's one of those paradoxes that bothers me. And I don't mean those stupid paradoxes about a stone too heavy to lift etc.

Surely you must question this... And if you dont know the answer, does it worry you?

This could be your kid, your dad or your grandma suffering for eternity and god knew it was going to happen before hand and he still went ahead with it. Does that bother you?

I don't believe in an eternal burning hell I believe in an eternity of non-existence once the fuel is burned up the fire goes out hence references of ashes under our feet. So the God I believe in doesn't torture people for eternity.

I can understand that. Its also much easier to live with the fact that a loved one simply doesn't exist any more rather then being tortured forever.

But the thing is an unloving God would have let every single one of us die and burn with no hope of escape as we deserve, no? But instead he sends His son, that never ever sinned and fulfilled the law 100%, just to be beaten and crucified for our sentence. That's not even the really hard part, you know when Jesus said in Mt 27:46 "About the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "ELI, ELI, LAMA SABACHTHANI?" that is, "MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?"
Do you know why He said this? It was because that was when the Father was pouring out His full righteous wrath on His son, and truly forsaking Him for our salvation. This was the cup Jesus prayed about in the garden, it was His Fathers wrath He feared, not the lashes. Doing that to your own son to save a bunch of ungrateful, undeserving, wretched sinners seems pretty dang loving to me. Not only all that, He still won’t force anyone into His presents. So I just think it’s perspective you lack in this matter, because I didn’t see all that until after I was regenerated because of that sacrifice.

And that is why it's so important for us to raise and teach our children of God and salvation through His son Jesus alone, because if they do end up in hell, a lot of the blame is on the parents. So it should worry every one of us parents or not.

It doesn't worry or bother me. Since I've come to know the TRUTH it has set me free.

This, as you call it, paradox, bothers you because by human standards you can not reason it. Understanding it can only come by TRUTH of the Spirit, a spiritual standard, which is why I said, understanding, "'...how God can give each person the choice to accept or reject Him while He knows what choice they will make without having predestined them to make it' is available to any person who seeks it (the answer) in TRUTH."

So your fine with god creating your child, for exanple. Knowing full well it is going to suffer for eternity? And knowing that suffering could have been prevented before hand, but wasn't?

I accept God as he is. I accept His nature. I accept His righteous judgment that is to come to all mankind.

Everyone decides to accept or reject God and his Word.
