The unified congregations of 500 and smaller don't even know who the televangelists are nor could care less and they make up 99% of the Pentecostal Movement.

If they turn on their TV's on on Sunday, they would know who they are.

The majority of the Pentecostal congregation are farmers and rural communities. In most states you have 3 major conglomerate cities with suburbs of smaller cities but the rest of the 95% of the state is rural. Farmers and rural people already think city folk are clueless. Ain't no one but YOU are paying attention to the televangelists.

Here is a question and a story I visited a church called rebibal for Christ this place was unlike any other church I have been to the spirit hits you like a wall when you walk in. well the preacher was a woman and she was preaching powerfully as I listened I began to feel a kind of trance take over and my head kepts falling backwards but I resisted it until the third time now I had a broken foot at that time but the spirit took over my body and I began walking to the stage barely aware of what was going on

she kept preaching seeing me walking to the stage and as soon as I got to the top she put her hands on my forehead and my body fell backwards but was caught by several people who began speaking tongues over me I even tried to resist and get up but my body simply wouldn't and I saw a portal open and jesus was smiling at me

Now this was what I think is called slain in the spirit but my question is if this can be explained with scripture

I attended a show given by a professional hypnotist. It took place on a college campus. It was open to the public.

All done in a secular setting....

Some were just like those who are told they have been slain in the spirit. Someone stood behind them to catch them.
Others spoke in other languages.
Others expressed joy and happiness..

That was not the Holy Spirit, but saw the same things.
My eyes were opened that day to knowing why we are commanded to test the spirits.

Yes... the experience was real.
The reason given for it was not.

I do not want to get into a never ending debate about the temporary gifts.

So let's use common sense in this discussion.
If you live in a rural community in 2025 it's not feasible to travel 100 miles to the closest big city.

One will also find the snake handlers and poison drinkers in rural areas as well.

Those snake idiots tend to be deep hidden mountain people and remind me of the drunkards of the Reformed where instead of preaching against being a drunk they added it to their doctrine.

What was the "gross mischaracterization" or "snub" you (mistakenly) think I made? Your reference to "Pentecostal assemblies" rather than to "radical Pentecostals" gives me the impression (hope :^) that you misread what I said.

That would be, your tendency to compartmentalize some Pentecostals as ''radical'', not me. For Pentecostalism, not the warped kind you referred to earier, but Pentecostalism that reveals no departure from the Gospel / Acts / Epistles record (sadly, a great many), can, by the unlearned world be incredibly radical. It remains to be seen if you will therefore admit without me having to guide you through to underscore what snubbing did ocurre.

The Neo-Charismatics are a lot more influential since the 1980s than Pentecostals. These are mostly those with huge multimillion dollar ministries who are on TBN, Daystar, God TV, etc. They represent a melting pot of all different varieties of Charismatics. Some Pentecostals, but also Word of Faith and NAR, among others. One thing they have in common is "signs and wonders." Everything from tongues, to prophecy, to healing and raising the dead. Some teach they have the ability to control the weather and rebuke diseases. Think Kenneth Copeland's famous rebuke of COVID, twice; which failed spectacularly by the way.

How is it a false teaching if there is no scriptural reference to it? I have been sick so I am trying to catrch up on the posts but everyone keeps saying it is a false teaching orfrom the devil but as far as I have seen no scripture to back it up without taking it out of context or trying to make it say something it isn't

Where in the bible can we prove this was not from God?
