one night I had lay down to sleep, my brain was going 100 mph. I couldn't stop my random thoughts and there was no way I could go to sleep. I instantly became highly alarmed. My brain was out of control. I remembered what someone had told me about meditation. I counted to 20, but when I thought "one" I also tried to picture the 1 in my mind.. then thought "TWO" and pictured the 2 and so on. I tried really hard to both think and picture it. It was kind of like a brain overload. I was trying to force my focus and thoughts onto these simple numbers. By the time I got to 20 I noticed my brain had really slowed down, so I counted from 20 to 0 the same way. Eventually when I was done I would lay there in silence absorbed in the quiet of my brain.. Then I would feel that the thoughts were about to begin.. even the thought "am I done thinking?" I would begin that counting and focusing again. It wasn't long before my brain was silenced and I fell asleep. I still use that technique just to ensure that my brain is a tool used by me and not my own controller.

God bless

I focus my brain on making sure each bit of my body is totally comfy then if I meditate I count my breaths up to 4 and repeat. I also consciously slow down my breathing and take deeper breaths

I usely try to remember all the scriptures I can, and before I know it I'm filled with peace and asleep.

Question?
When counting sheep, are they suppose to belong to Jesus? LOL

Take care and God bless your rest!
