Slipping backward to the false security or walking forward to the “unstable” solution of Christ?
• Proverbs 14:14 -> “The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways, but a good man from himself.”.
By any chance do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He? (1Cor 10:22). What does it make us to think that our ways is better than the Creator’s ways? If we follow our ways, for some moments, we can think that the things went right. However, as time goes by, our proclivity is to get weary of our ways:
• Pro 1:31 -> “and they shall eat the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own desires.”.
• Pro 12:14 -> “A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth, and the reward of a man's hands shall be given to him.”
The writer of Hebrews gives us a serious warning:
• Heb 3:12 -> “Take heed, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.”
And the reason can be read below:
• Heb 10:37-39 -> “For "yet a little while, and He who shall come will come and will not delay.". Now, "the Just shall live by faith. But if he draws back, My soul shall have no pleasure in him.". But we are not of those withdrawing to destruction, but of those who believe to the preserving of the soul.
• Zep 1:4,6 -> “I will also stretch out My hand on Judah and on all the people of Jerusalem. And I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, the name of the idol-worshipers, with the priests, and those drawing back from Jehovah, and who have not sought Jehovah, nor asked for Him.”.
Ultimately, if we forsake Jesus’ ways to try to sort out the problems by ourselves, this is the sentence:
• Eze 22:31 -> “Therefore I have poured out My fury on them. I have burned them up with the fire of My wrath. I have given their way on their heads, says the Lord Jehovah.”
So, have a good day rejoicing in your good deportment, that is to say, following the Jesus and His word, even when, apparently, the things are getting wrong. Recollect that the efficacy of Jesus’ ways isn’t in the logic or strength, but in Jesus using His grace, power, love.
