I mean it's like I know should be looking for more guy friends, but if I'm just looking for guy friends how that lead to actually making girls that are real friends? I mean the other times I've tried it, it's never really lead anywhere to making any real girls that are friends. It's like I don't know what to do, but I just don't want to end up alone. meh... I'm just not sure what to do...

dude, you are only 24.. Seriously, I had not even been looking for a date when I was 24 :D
And I believe that God will give us the right ones in HIS time.
I would suggest you to become more desperate in looking for God's face, to know Him, to be in love with Him.
As to make friends with girls, well, maybe just start with your expectation when you make friends with guys.. well, you know what I mean, right? just don't make any impression that you are looking forward to making her your girlfriend :p

Hand your desire for a wife to God. Every time it comes up. Tell Him that you're giving it to Him completely. And ask Him to let you desire the things that He wants you to desire.

"Cast your burdens to the Lord, and He will sustain you."

Sometimes I assume that people know what I'm talking about, when I actually need to be wordier. If that's the case here, let me know.

Often when I meet new people, or when I will be going somewhere that I will meet new people I pray asking

"God, you know that I want a wife. It does affect many of my decisions, but Lord please show me who You would have me meet. Guide me to accomplish your will, whether it be with a friend or with a wife."

In more direct response to the OP, it seems to me that you would get great benefit from doing things just because God wants you to. God commands you to love 'your neighbor' as yourself. That requires a real relationship with other people. So don't make friends with guys with the hopes it will lead somewhere. Make friends with guys because God desires that you love them. As for how to do this, PC has already shared a way. Friends aren't a tool to get somewhere else, they are the 'somewhere' to get to; guy or girl.

You are putting far too much pressure on yourself, dot. :( Chill! In your present mode, even if you do find a great lady, you might scare her off.

Enjoy being 24! Be a person someone else would want to be with. :)

i agree! remember the verse in bible Psalm 37:4 "Delight yourself to the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart."
and you should have to make a real friendship first as a foundation of your relationship someday! dont rush everything it will come at the right time, right place and a right person ^.^

[h=2]So how do I become less desperate in looking for a wife?[/h]

By not posting threads like these.

Since you joined this website, you have started 237 threads, and roughly 178 of them have been about getting people (usually girls) to like you.

That's over one thread a week for three and a half years all asking basically the same question, and getting basically the same responses.

God says it is not good for man to be alone , tjat Je will make him a help
Mate... Your desire for this ? "God has put in all of us ".
However , have you thought about your desire in your relationship with God? Do you desire him first place in you heart like you desire having a wife ? I have struggled in this area myself, so I want you to know you are not alone in this .. What I have found when I searched my heart out, was tjat I had put this desire ahead of God, sometimes even running ahead of him to find it on my own ... First clue something was out of wack was when I realized this "search" had become an idol in my life ...
It also revealed I was seeking my plan and will instead of Gods plan and will... when I realized Tjis I handed it all up to God an said "here" I'm handing this desire back to you God.. you are deserving of it first ... I then had to look at my motives for seeking such a thing out " ahead" of Gods will and plan ... I came to find that my loneliness was actually a symptom of not spending enough "quality" time in my relationship with God ... When I started doing this , loneliness left and god was able then to fill my bucket with His love... Bringing me to a calmer place of rest .. how's your time with God going ? remember ..loneliness is a symptom , "an alarm" built in us by God to wake us up and make is aware we may not be spending enough
time alone with Him... Get into His word , Go to tue index of youre bible and begin reading all he has to say to you about his love for you .... I'll bet loneliness leaves you pretty quick :) praying for you in this

As for me, i come to realize, when i place so much on finding a relationship with my mate, That's time spent not focusing on the Lord. God already knows the desires of our hearts. So then that would be on me spending so much time focusing on finding a relationship (as to take it on myself. which often times don't seem to work out for me. Hence the reason I am still alone). Rather then me waiting on the Lord.
No easy answer. Even once I've come to realizing this, it's now a matter of me submitting to God. Also knowing the flesh is weak, but my spirit is willing. That is why we so need Jesus.
My mind would clearly find a way to justify what it is that i want. So this being an area of battle ground for me as i'm sure it may be for many of us. But just think how much time we spend thinking and worrying in this area.

Seconded. Be comfortable with who you are. Take time off from even considering a date. This, my friend, is liberation.

Stop thinking and searching. Enjoy the moment and those around you. Life is too short to be consumed by what you don't have. More often than not God blesses those when they are least expecting it.

Doth- If you haven't already, go and take a look at the thread "The Less you look, the more you find." I think that NukePooch's post is really good in answering your question.
