So how do you deal with doublemindedness?

5) If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

So if one is to pray for wisdom in seeking a place to worhip, a mate, and other important issue should not they wholeheartedly believe that God will answer. Because my problem is I believe that God can do anything, but when I pray for these things I always start to doubt and waver in my faith as to rather God will do these and other things,

So does anyone know how to deal with this kind of doubleminded or better yet how to conquer it?
 
It is the constant transforming of your mind.

You can't just build a fire, and expect that it will stay lit, you have to keep tending it, and adding what it needs to stay going.

Stay in Gods word, rely on the faith you have that tells you God is real and loves you, and believe with that faith that God hears your prayers and does answer them in His perfect will and timing. (sometimes the answer is no or wait.)

I remember talking to a VERY bitter *former* christian one time about why they were no longer a practicing Christian. He told me that he watched his dad suffer terribly from cancer. He prayed, the whole family prayed, church prayed....everyone prayed for him to be healed. He died. This guy was soooooo angry. felt betrayed. Felt like God did not listen to him or care what he wanted. I did not want to sound callous or uncareing....but I told him that his prayers were answered...his dad was healed. He received the ultimate healing of no more cancer and a new body in heaven!!
I also told him that you never know who, along the way was touched by what they family was going though. could be a nurse, or doctor. Could be anyone that came in contact with them through the sitiation of their dads sickness that ended up leading them to accept Christ. I think there are many situaions like this that we will not know of this side of heaven.

I guess sometimes we are looking for a certain answer that we acctually miss the answer that we get....or that God, in His silence, is also giving you an answer. Scripture does say, "Be still, and KNOW that I am God."
 
I remember seeing this in the bible try praying this :)
Mark 9:24 (New International Version)

24 Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”
 
Sometimes we have to step back, take a breath, and pray for clarity. So many things can cloud our vision and our thoughts. We can get so caught up in a thing that it overtakes us. Taking the time to shake off the things that don't matter and clinging to those that do...and especially the ONE who does... can make all of the difference.
 
Philippians 4:8

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

My suggestion and sense tells me to tell you........

I am sorry, I do not have a smart and focused mind right now.

You are saying that you are praying for yourself or for others?

Either way, before you pray, try to use wisdom.

If you are seeking a mate or new church body, there are some general guidlines

1. Distance
2. Common interests, compatiability
3. Will any anger be created by your decision?
4. What is the direction and vision and future you are trying to create?
5. What is that they you still want out of life? And are these choices the priority at this time?

Good things to consider when praying and making a decision.

God wants you to be confident and be comfortable with your choices, but other not so good things like God, don't care at all if you suffer because of lack of decisiveness.

So, be with it, and live.

That is what I am doing, today is Memorial Day, and businesses, schools, are all mostly closed. I will be going out to visit a friend. Can't sit around the house all day.

What good is tv? What did they do before it was invented? EXACTLY!

Basics, and what happens when all the modern things of the world are taken away? You are left with what you have! Use it Ms. Female or Mr. Male. I forget, I didn't look at your picture.

Thanks everyone, for the helpful replies. Yes, I know God may answer no to a mate. But to a home place of worship, which I definitely am in need of, will that is where I know I being doubleminded.
