Okay, so I haven't looked at porn in 2 month and almost failed today(Looked at something I thought was gonna be porn, but it turned out it wasn't). and I'm really know how deal with it when i'm getting really horny and thinking about sex all the time.
 
If your internet connection causes you to sin, cut it off. For it is better to enter the Kingdom of heaven with no internet than to go to hell with T-1.
 
Even if you cut off your internet connection, the fact that you think about it alot will make you go for it the next time you have a connection or see it a magazine. Bro, the Bible says in Romans 8:2 "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of SIN and death." (also read Romans 6) Dude, God has already freed you from sin, internet connection or not, the fact is you are free. When ever you are tempted to fall into it confess and proclaim with your mouth that you are free from all sin and will not fall into it. 2 Corinthians 10: 4-5 "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the PULLING DOWN OF STRONG HOLDS. Casting down imaginations and every HIGH THING that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every THOUGHT to the obedience of Christ"
You have the power to make every one of your thoughts to the obedience of God and you can bring down all things that trys to exalt itself in you, just through confession and prayer. Ask God to give you the strength to cast all thoughts that may arise and fill your mind with the Word of God and good lovely pure thoughts. God bless
 
For a deep-running sin like that, to overcome it, it helps tremendously to confess it personally. Telling a bunch of anonymous strangers on a chat forum isn't considered accountability, because you don't run into them on a day-to-day, face-to-face basis. If you tell your close Christian friends that you've been struggling with this, then you'll have real accountability with them. It'll hurt and may be really embarrassing at first, but you'll have brought your darkness to light, thereby destroying a huge foothold Satan has in your life.

One of the dangerous things about porn addiction is that, although most Christian males struggle with it, few are willing to openly admit it. And when you won't admit it, you won't be able to ask your friends how they're doing in the exact same struggle. That puts it all on you to fight yourself, and it's a losing battle.
 
I agree with AAA, face-to-face accountability would probably be the most effective. Also, I don't think the singles forum is the appropriate place for threads about porn/masturbation in the first place...

My real life freinds already know about it, and I asked them the same question.
 
In my experience:

At the moment of temptation (you've necked a few beers and you're alone at your computer feeling a bit lonley etc.) then a quick, but meditative prayer can stave it off. Personally, I find a Hail Mary useful, but if you're conscience won't allow it, then try an Our Father.

However, I think the most important aspect is to condition yourself throughout the day to see women as actual human beings. A beating heart, a soul, your mother, your sister etc. At first it might take some effort of will, but hopefully, and gradually, it should be easy to see the true horror and dehumanisation of pornography. Try to really sense the horror of what that dark part of you is asking you to do.

Then, try to look forward to being able to see the true beauty of women. They are amazing creatures designed by God for a purpose. It is a grievious thing to take that beauty and turn it into lust. It may not happen over night, but if you allow it, your eyes can be opened to a higher beauty, not unlike an appreciation of art.

And finally, if the enemy has worn down your defences, and you're almost decided that you're going to click on that link, force yourself to think about God and His plan for you and the women you feel so tempted by. Think: Your masturbatory satisfaction most definitely is not a what God intends for these women or you. It is an abuse, not only of those women transmitted through your broadband connection, but also of yourself.

I've had a couple of gins, so I hope that was coherent and maybe even helpful.

I lose count of your threads on this subject.

It's really rather simple, do all the things you aren't yet doing, the things that have been mentioned ad nauseam in your many threads.

It's embarassing to talk about with another guy face to face, and it always will be, but get yourself an accountability partner, someone who has been there and will verbally slap you about when you need it, provide the distraction that will help you through the hard moments etc.

If the computer is your window to the world of porn then consider making that sacrifice, cut off your internet, maybe for a certain period of time so you force yourself through those moments because the window is no longer there.

In short, stop complaining about it, and do something about it.
If all you do is ride the wave until it collapses, you will never be free.

Stay away from things that are close enough to tempt you to look at it... ie... your computer... occupy your mind on the things of God!!! Simple, with intent!!!

. Get rid of it!! Go.to the library to use a computer when you have to, they filter their internet, so, no porn.

Green, you just told me to get rid of everything so that makes no sense.

Right you are, I want you to go to your nearest Christian bookstore (no, you can't order it online , you don't have a connection, remember) and, WITH God's prayerful help, YOU, young Mr. .hack, are going to pick out a few books.

The FIRST one is going to take a little time, because it's a bible. Just enjoy yourself, listening to the nice Christian music, looking through bible after bible after bible. Ask God to help WITH your finding the perfect bible for you. I suggest, since you seem to me like a pretty smart penguin, so to speak, that you get an 'inductive study bible' but whatever bible is fine, the one YOU are Lord-led too. And, don't worry, you ask God to lead, He will. :)

So, get a bible and then get a book on kicking addictions, read someone like Stephen Arteburn , and, now that you are done with that, GO to the fun fiction section of stories and read thru the first pages of a few stories (I suggest Gilbert Morris) and get what appeals to you.

Doing all this stuff won't change yoy UNLESS you want to change, and, you must get the old (sh**) out and bring in the new that is going to clean things up in your brain.

But nothing will happen WITHOUT the power of God asked to help you. Just won't. Then , .DotHack, you WILL DO IT.

And, shhhh, it is not for anyone else to know that you are in the middle of a transformatioN. MOM AND DAD DON'T need to know, maybe they don't know now. That really doesn't matter , what matters is that you want to KNOW God MUCH MORE in your life and are ready to be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

Here's what helped me: Im a Catholic so I used to go to confession after I commited this sin, and get absolution that way, but I found that after a few days or maybe weeks I would fall into the habits of sin again, so I realised I needed something more powerful to free me from the addiction. When we commit this sin, and others, we allow demons into our lives, and give them power in our lives, so these need to be cast out so that we can begin to really break free from this addiction. So when I realised this, I went to a priest, who did a deliverance prayer with me: basically what he did was hear my confession then say something along the lines of "we bind these and place them at the feet of Jesus", although what exactly he said and did I'm not sure. But wow: after that I was so filled with the Holy Spirit for so long, and didn't sin because the demons were gone from my life and I was filled with grace. The problem is that after this we can fall back into complacency and slowly but surely slip back into old sins. So when the addiction is cut from your life you need prayer prayer and more prayer, but you need to have prayers that you say routinely, otherwise human laziness will defeat you.

Dude I'm in your same boat sort of. I've had an addiction with porn a good part of my life and I truly want to repent of this sin and get away from it. I've been 3 weeks free from it so far. Coming up in a few days will be 1 month and I want to make it more than a month. My suggestions are: 1) Keep yourself busy doing other things such as reading your bible, doing homework ( if you're in school that is), go for a walk, pray to God for help, etc, etc. If you're doing things to keep you busy, then you'll most likely have no time to look at that sinful crap and that's good. 2) Put a porn blocker software or something similar on your computer. I use a program called x3 watch and it has helped. It's accountability software and its free and there's also a pro version of it that only cost like $7. Go to Porn Addiction - Awareness, Prevention and Recovery and check it out. 3) Ask some of you friends you know from your church or just any guys in general you know who have a relationship with God to keep you accountable. Have them text or call you once a week to see how you're doing in the area of purity and to also pray for you. I have that with a few of my friends from my church and it has helped out a bunch. So those are by suggestions brother. Hope all is well. Keep loving Jesus.
