Can't you just leave ungodly groups and unfriend ungodly people and unfollow church friends that post dumb stuff but you want to keep as friends? That seems to work for me. I don't get posts about antivaccine, conspiracy theories, or political vents because I unfollow those people who like to do that.
Here in CC you have to apply the same kind of self discipline. You have to avoid getting drawn into arguments and sometimes it helps to ignore those who posts things that you find yourself wanting to reply to in a way that is just arguing with strangers on the internet. A really dumb thing to do by the way. LOL.
As to Facebook deleting antivaccine, conspiracy theories or similar things that they think might be harmful I am personally glad that they do that.
If one gets by them and one of my friends is posting it, I just unfollow that friend for 30 days and if they are still doing it after that I will just unfollow them, but keep them as friends. I respect that people have strong feelings about things but instead of my calling them "an idiot" in my heart because of their asinine posts, I just unfollow them so I am not provoked into sending them a fact check link since I already know that if I can find it in 30 seconds so can they but they have refused to believe the facts and want to believe unreasonable, illogical, stupidly crafted posts that a any 10th grader can disprove then they are beligerant and me sending them the fact check information or scientific journals or reams of data to prove them wrong is not going to convince them as they WANT the false information to be true so that they can VENT.
The problem with us is that we can fall into the sin of wicked negative venting. It releases hormones in the brain that give us a release and we can become addicted to it. The more hateful the venting the more we like doing it. This is trollville territory and navigating the internet without becoming one of them requires that we DO NOT GET DRAWN into arguments.
You can get a "yucky" feeling in your spirit by communicating on CC just like you can on Facebook. You have to guard yourself from reading the posts of the wicked hateful venting or engaging with it or you will find yourself deleting Christian Chat as well.
One of the reasons I am glad that Facebook deletes harmful misinformation is that Christians that post it or share it are partaking in lying to people and this is a sin. If they are not going to take that seriously then maybe when Facebook deletes it they may take a second look at their activity and consider that it just might really be a lie that they were sharing. And they don't want to share and promote lies that could hurt people if they have a desire for truth, which is the sign of a born again person. The thought of sharing something that is a lie as though it were the truth should be disturbing to them. However if they think that because it is on the internet that it is not the same as speaking a lie out loud to someone face to face then maybe having it removed is an opportunity for them to reconsider.
There is a lot of wickedness being posted on the internet but lying to people would be just as wicked as the rest of the examples we could come up with.
Passing on a video or a false accusation about a person that has no basis in fact is something God Hates. We would not want to be a party to that. But Christians do it a lot in the name of their flavor of politics.
Passing on conspiracy theories that are lies ruins their testimony. People will not listen to them when they try to explain the Gospel or the bible because they will remember the ignorant, myths and lies you believed when you posted them on your Facebook. That can cause someone to never listen to you for the rest of your life. Decades from now they might still think you are very dim because you did not know the post you shared was ignorant lies. If Christians are going to participate in sharing false information (lies) they should not be upset when the platform deletes the lies. They should be more upset that they fell for the lie and shared it.

I was not talking about you personally but anyone in general who gets upset when FB deletes antivaccine and conspiracy theories that foment hate and harm and crazy thinking. That might not even apply to what you were talking about, it was just something I added to help those who are falling into the trap of sharing lies on FB and not taking it seriously.

I don't want other people censoring what i share and what I speak about. My daddy taught me the beauty of debate. We speak and argue and discuss. Then we, as the adults we are, are free, as Americans, to come to our own conclusions.
We see Facebook and Twitter openly censoring what does not line up with their own political and social beliefs. This includes the open sharing of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This includes standing against abortion. This includes standing up for our Constitutional right to bear arms. We are labeled as racists, as haters, as White Supremacists (no matter the color of our skin), as fomenters of violence. The hatred of the enemy runs deeply in the veins of many who control our access to others over the internet. Rather than debate, they choose to erase us. Cancel us. Rather than support Free Speech, they block anyone who does not agree with their own beliefs.
I, along with many, am truly horrified at the direction of our beautiful country. I will not support Facebook, Twitter, or any other platform that is manipulating the minds of innocents.
I can--and did--unFriend everyone except my family. I unFollowed those I love but don't agree with. I got rid of all my Groups except for one. However ... I kept feeling such deep Conviction in my Spirit that these places were no place for me to be supporting with my presence.
So I left.

well FB is an american invention..so I am supposing that its subject to american laws...whatever they are!
in China ppl use WeChat, since FB is banned.
I dont think my country has their own social network, we tend to piggyback on other ppls...but Trademe was a nz invention, though it did copy Ebay at first, it was up and running and then craigslist copied it.

well alot of other countries dont appreciate that warmongering and banned them from setting foot in their country. No nuclear weapons please. If you want to debate and argue, do it in the whitehouse (or whatver parliament, or courthouse) where such hot air belongs.

I was on it for while, but I lost interest as it was mostly ppl complaining on there. lol
I think any social website has an element of moderation on it (some people might experience censorship) but no website just lets you say ANYTHING you want. For example if you keep saying you have a gun and threatening to use it on people you dont like well, that might ring alarm bells for some people.

I should mention in Facebook's defense that it does have its uses. Everybody in my family except me and Grandma has a Facebook account, mostly to keep track of friends who are far away. As with any tool, if you use it for the things for which it is useful in your life, it can be a good thing.
I have a Skype chat room for keeping track of friends, so I just don't need facebook. And of course grandma doesn't care anything about any of that stuff.

We set up a group using Marco Polo for the family to keep in touch. We also use it for individual communication. Needless to say, I love it!
I rarely text and even more rarely use my phone. Marco Polo is perfect for my needs. And I get to video chat with all my grandchildren no matter how far away they are!
