Mental acknowledgement????? What's that???? I needed a Savior.
nothing I did or will every do will make me worthy, I could beat my chest and tell everyone what a sinner I am. I could confess to every bad thing to everyone but that is not going to change my heart.
Condemnation does NOT change anyone, the love born in the heart when recognizing Who Jesus is and what He has done makes me WANT to obey. Not focusing on "I will not covet, I will not lie, I will not murder, I will not steal, I will not, I will not, I will not...
True change says I will be like HIM, kind, I will be loving, I will be a blessing, I will help, I will give, and when I mess up....
I AM forgiven, because of Jesus ,not because of my behavior but for the sake of Christ.
Here you are saying.... "when I mess up" .... like it is unescapeable (and planned). What makes it worse is that you think you are forgiven of that sin when it does come in time (Which it will according to your beliefs). So you believe in a sin and still be saved doctrine. You believe sin is going to happen at some point in your life and that when it does, you just think it is automatically forgiven. Tell me, how does that concept work in the real world? Does that work well with people you sin or do wrong against today? Why do you think it is different with God? Why do you think God would condone or allow you to get away with evil?
When you cry for someone to forgive you, does that not mean anything to you? What does 1 John 2:1, and 1 John 1:9 say? What about 1 John 1:7?
