Made insurance much more expensive and affordable care harder to access, with individual market premiums skyrocketing. This has led to billions of dollars in lost wages and stifled job growth. It is a major taxpayer burden—as seen by the Medicaid expansion costs—and forces young, healthy people to pay artificially high premiums to subsidize the market; essentially, it’s caused a fracture in both the economy and healthcare that we will probably never be able to fully patch.

The reason people came to vote in unprecedented numbers in California was they knew the outcome of the race and were too ignorant of the rules thinking that if they came out in numbers they could change that. You can't allow the west coast to have that kind of advantage over the rest of the country. Since precincts begin reporting once the polls close they would have to close at the same time nationwide. There is a six hour difference between Hawaii and NY. That means that Hawaii would have to close the polls at 3pm if NY closes at 9pm and California would have to close at 6 pm.

Additionally, it was one of the early topics that fractured the population politically. The left wanted to make a soup-sandwich work, and hated everyone that called it out for being fantasy. It was the total abandonment of free-market principles, and a laying of a cornerstone of socialist government.

Yup. Now no matter how many people wake up, there will always be a permanent group who actually think democratic socialism is possible; as a college student, I see it infecting many “educated” young folk. Or should I say… indoctrinated.
