"From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brethren, this ought not to be so. Does a spring pour forth from the same opening fresh water and brackish? Can a fig tree, my brethren, yield olives, or a grapevine figs? No more can salt water yield fresh." (Jas 3:10-12, RSV)

If it weren't so sad, Trump reading the Bible in public is laughable!

Regardless of who does it, God's Word going forth is what matters... Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God:

"The leader of the free world is about to open a Bible on camera — and the verse he chose is shaking people.
President Donald Trump has been selected to read 2 Chronicles 7:11–22 from the Oval Office this week as part of “America Reads the Bible,” a nationwide event commemorating 250 years of the Bible in America. The pre-recorded segment is scheduled to air Tuesday evening during the 6 p.m. EST hour, with the broader reading running April 19 through April 25.
For millions of American Christians, this is more than a ceremony. It is the sitting president publicly reading Scripture from the most powerful office in the world — and the verse at the heart of his passage has been prayed over American soil for generations during every season of national crisis.
Event organizer Bunni Pounds said the passage was intentionally set aside for Trump over a year ago. Nearly 500 leaders and 122 ministries are participating, with the full Bible being read aloud from Genesis to Revelation at the Museum of the Bible. The chosen verse is one of the most famous calls to repentance in all of Scripture — a reminder that no nation rises above the spiritual condition of its people.
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” — 2 Chronicles 7:14
A president bowing his head over God’s Word is not a political moment. It is a spiritual one. Because healing does not begin in Washington. It begins on our knees.
What do you believe God is saying to America in this hour?"

" What do you believe God is saying to America in this hour?"

What He has always said...."Repent! And believe the Gospel".

Philippians 1:18 What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

Trump is reading from Chronicles, so Christ won't be preached.
Key Verses Saying Scripture is About Jesus:

"And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself".

"You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me".

"For if you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote of me".

"...everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled".

"To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name".

"For all the promises of God find their Yes in him [Jesus]".

"...Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures"

Jesus is the incarnated word of God

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not...

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

There are additional words from God we should consider when thinking of a national leader reading the Bible to his people:

But to the wicked God says: “What right have you to recite my statutes, or take my covenant on your lips? For you hate discipline, and you cast my words behind you. (Ps 50:16-17, RSV)

But when they came to the nations, wherever they came, they profaned my holy name, in that men said of them, ‘These are the people of the LORD, and yet they had to go out of his land.’ But I had concern for my holy name, which the house of Israel caused to be profaned among the nations to which they came. (Ezek 36:20-21, RSV)

How long will it be before a President may decide to read to us from the Koran? The rule of civil government is one thing, the rule in the spiritual, the church is another. Keep them separate, yes, separation of Church and State.

They said, “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them, “Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” (Matt 22:21, RSV)

Disclosure: I did vote for Trump both in 2020 and 2024.

However, I don't think I've ever seen a President in my lifetime (from either party) who has been idolized as much as he has been.

I don't consider myself to be MAGA; I was voting for (what I believed at the time to be) the "less bad" option.

I am conservative politically, but I do not support the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR), Word of Faith (WoF), Dominionism, Theonomy or Christian Nationalism.

It is good to read your post. I too have voted for Donald Trump the 3 times he has run for President because the alternative just seemed unthinkable! But, with the drift of the country now, my votes of any importance will be in the Primaries, and I may have to just sit out the National elections in the future. The attack on the American rule of separation of "Church" and State" is astounding and quite scary! Church/evangelical establishments, stay out of our government, and Washington, stay out of the Churches!

I don't know where Trump stands with God. I know a lot of Christians that have been on the road a long time and you'd be shocked to hear the jokes they tell and things they say. I am thankful we have a president willing to read the Bible and acknowledges we need God. Obama mocked the Bible and said this wasn't a Christian country. Kammy said " you're at the wrong rally" when someone shouted "Jesus is Lord" and the Dems under Biden voted to strike Gods name from their platform. So you can judge Trump to be unworthy to read the Word but I don't believe God feels that way. Especially with the way America was headed under the Dems.

Unfortunately, his supporters will see this as another sign that he is God's man for the hour. Sad.

You know there were a lot of born again Christians that voted Bill Clinton back into office after he did what he did in the WH. The excuse was what he did behind closed doors had nothing to do with how he ran the country. I believe God allows people into office for His own purposes. Where Trump stands with God I don't know. But he is open to God unlike the Dems, he's open to prayer and this reading of the Bible. The Dems had us headed for Communism. It's stunning to me that people are here downing the reading of the Word of God and a president who isn't against it when just a few miles north if the C9 bill is passed in Canada much of the Bible will not be allowed to be read or preached or you may find yourself in jail.
  • Removal of Religious Exemption: The bill includes a contentious change that removes the specific legal defense for religious speech in some hate speech cases, causing debate over potential impacts on religious freedom.
So when you consider that, and that we have a Communist mayor in NYC, I'd say that God may have allowed Trump to be president of the country.

I have been watching it when I can and it has brought me to tears. The music along with the Word of God going out. I don't understand how anyone can be against that.

I think people tend to stand up for Pres. Trump or appear to idolize him because the elites and their media are over-criticizing him. It's a balance thing.

I like Pres. Trump! 🥰 I'm enjoying him being our president right now, because sooner or later, the antichrist will be our world leader, whether we voted for him or not.
