theres a book called Mum for sale and its about a mum who is so occupied with her phone that her children (they are all penguins btw) put her up for sale .

I once went on tv because mum always watched tv instead of talking to me at dinner. I got this job as an extra on a soap, so that she could see me on the tv instead of sitting right in front of her at the dinner table. But I was only on for like 2 seconds. The rest the time she ignores me. sigh.

My 19 year old granddaughter, came over to tell us that she was engaged. She met her husband to be on a game site that their families have been playing for several years. She has never communicated with him outside the game site, or Skype. I'm waiting for her to tell me that they are getting married online.
...at this point, I would probably be happy that (1) she’s getting married and (2) the groom isn’t her cat.

I have now got an ingenious way of getting my parents to not ignore me and watch tv.
Dad I play scrabble with.
and Mum I get her to read picture dictionaries with me in cHinese cos I want to learn new words.

You aboslutely have to find ways to interact. tv has been like a babysitter for so long for a generation (and now internet) that people forget how to interact with each other.

I worked in retirement villages and saw elderly people stuck on their phones too, so it isnt just the young.

I had a boss who instead of doing any work would yabber away on his phone all the time. He would have a spade in his hand and talking on the phone at the same time.
Exactly. No one is immune to technology. It isn't bad or good necessarily. It's the way things are and fighting against that is like swimming upstream.

Social distancing is ruining our children.
Why dont you consider doing something good for the family. I mean do things that will engage the children to come off their technology. Technology is a big things but whats beautiful is you can all use it together, get yourself a WII-U or the next gen Nintendo console, the one that is out now.
