Well if it weren't for the whole pandemic and quarantine, I'd say just be social in real life. I suppose though for the time being you could try other things like read books, experiment with cooking, spring cleaning, clean up your yard if you have any mess left over from last year, etc.

For myself I have been keeping a little busy by testing out some new surveillance and remote communications equipment on my workers as well as starting a little side project to build a patio.

If you want to get a handle on it, start limiting how long you spend online each day. Use a timer or alarm clock.

I appreciate your tips x I didn't think of it like that. Thank you so much.
I'm inspired to create something now

How do you cope?
Hi gabz,
Perhaps I just continued w/ things that need to be done, like cleaning, sharing Gospel, as well as stuff I used to do as a younger person. I had pen pals before, loved to sing and play music, read.. so now I write again, play/practice my instruments some time am and pm, read stuff I so hoped I could before but couldn't. Also have more time to talk w/ my children when they choose to talk=), garden more. Ah but yest there was suddenly rain! I was so glad I didn't have to water wilting plants, and could use time to have a nap or exercise. Once I also made kimchi, something I did for the first time really. When we get back to normal, i'm sure we be hopping like rabbits from task to task again, and will have little time to work on or explore some interests as we can now!

How do you cope?
Never been a social media addict. Fb I only go on once a day. And thats not to socialize but to find updates on interests and see funny things. Sometimes get updates on things.

But when did this "addiction" start? Recently? Or has this been ongoing? If recent it may be more about quarantine and socialization than addiction.
If long term it may depend on how you use it. Many anymore use social media as a way to feel special, noticed or unique. It's easier to get attention on social media than real life.
But the attention given is ultimately unhealthy. Perhaps do a little research on the negative impacts of excessive social media use. There's plenty of evidence now.

Often times gaining knowledge and understanding is a big step in getting help. When you can see for yourself how too much reliance on social media can actually tear you down it may make it easier to step away from it.

I started wondering what could be the benefits of spending hours and hours per day on the social.
Thinking about it, I noticed:
1) I was wasting time about unnecessary things
2) social media were so full of vanity, intolerance, selfishness, hypocrisy, envy, foolish behaviours just to reach likes or approval and so on
3) I was also starting to have some of these attitudes, and an addiction to spend too many time there

SO one day, after I thought about it some days I unsubscribed from all social I had. I was determined not to care about all likes or approbation I reached in the years through the posts or photos I published, neither about the friends or followers I had…
I was sad at the thought I couldn't see (or spy) my friends posts BUT I was so determined that more about 3 years ago I made the choice.

Since that moment I never had regrets and I felt so better.
