I am going to go out on a limb and say some things that are INTENSELY UNPOPULAR but are TOTALLY TRUE.
Ready?
OK
God is One person. Not three.
Don't believe me? Reread John 1 and do the math.
God (Jesus) is what is considered a legalist.
He wrote the law, He enforces the law, and He judges from the law.
Don't believe that either? Read your Bible. Importance of the law is ALL through it.
God expects us to trust Him and take Him at His word.
2 Timothy 4 and Psalms 119:11
Are great places to start. Did you know that the Kings of old Israel had their own personal copy of the law to read and study on a daily basis.
God expects us to obey the law to the best of our ability and then look to Him to get you through the rest.
If that gets your goat, think this through:
Everyone knows that we can identify ourselves as sinners by recognizing that sin is disobedience to the law. Right? Well, lets take that one step further. Repentance is to change one's mind. If you're living in sin before Christ and you are repenting, what are you changing to? Are you really changing or changed if you continue to sin?
Read the Bible. Need a direction? Romans is a good one for explaining that, But really every Word of God speaks on it.
God wants faithful DEDICATED soldiers.
Have you ever considered a samurai? There are many examples of a loyal soldier, but my favorite is the samurai. They arm themselves to the hilt, they take care of their equipment, they are ready to fight at all times (in season and out), they obey their leader without question, they think nothing of their own lives, and they fight like they've already won.
Scripture often refers to God's children as soldiers. We even have custom armor.
Ephesians 6:13-18
God's Spirit never ceased to fall on people, is not just for the Apostles, and does not require the laying on of hands.
Want proof? Read Acts.
There is more but I think you get the point.
[h=1]2 Peter 1:20King James Version (KJV)[/h]20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
Meaning there is not interpretation, only the plain Word of God.
