Hey everyone.

I’d like to try to keep this post sorta brief, and I hope that’s okay with you.

On YouTube I saw a thumbnail and title about like, signs you’re possessed by Satan.

There’s a good chance I had a hubristic thought something like “Pfft, I don’t believe in that stuff anyway.”

There’s a less good chance I had a hubristic thought something like that, AND it was in a sorta jestful manner (not that I’m trying to justify anything).

My knowledge of spiritual warfare, spiritual beings, and that kind of stuff is probably not very high.

A question I’d like to ask, is there anything I should be concerned about regarding this thought of mine?

Also, I’d like to take a moment to thank that this place exists, and also to everyone who has helped me in some way, because this place has been a huge help for me. Thank you.

You need to be aware of spiritual warfare and recognize it. However, my advice is don't dwell too much on spiritual warfare as this can make one feel unnecessarily troubled (which I have experienced).

Your thoughts are extremely important. Evil spirits can and do inject thoughts into our minds. They pretend to be us, so we may well be confused or worse, deceived.

Your thoughts therefore are not always you. If you chose to think the thought, then yes, you own the thought and you are responsible. If you did not choose to think, it is an invasive thought. You need to reject it, saying something like I did not choose to think that thought and I will not accept it.

Satan wants to keep us off balance. We can easily become unstable. There are some good books, especially "War on the Saints" by Jesse Penn-Lewis. Watchman Nee's "The Spiritual Man" is a great resource also. It contains a great deal of help with thought issues.

Hmm, be aware that it exists, or be aware of what it is?

Hmm, would those books be necessary for me currently in my Christian life? If I was an adult I might go for them, but in my current situation I’d rather not (not because I’m cheap or in poverty or anything like those).

Heyyyy, as a Christian you should be aware of it but there’s no need to fear because you can’t be possessed but you can be troubled by demons.
Since Jesus is already your lord and the Holy Spirit dwells in you it impossible for a démon to be IN you because obviously God is greater. If youre being troubled however that’s different.

No, scripture is pretty clear to be ignorant about evil...Not stick your head in the sand or ignore evil but more like "Don't go looking for trouble". Sort of thing.

Youtube videos are basically that...unless you have a specific person you are looking for that has been recommended by someone you trust or has displayed wisdom I wouldn't watch them. Some videos are pretty terrible. Some are just lies and can misteach you/decieve you on a very important subject.

I don't have any recommendations on who to listen to (like as in a channel but I have at least heard of watchman nee) ... just be mindful that yes the devil is real...assignments can happen and when we open a door to the enemy, expect some sort of fallout.

Like watching a movie you know you shouldn't be watching...then you have nightmares or experience fear of the dark, etc.

You can give evil spirits footholds and even set up a stronghold in your life (e.g addiction) but possession I agree would not be for a believer.

Paul was given a thorn in his flesh and I think believers can experience some rather personal assignments like that but that has limits. True, maybe those limits are beyond what you can personally bear on your own but you aren't supposed to be on your own...you bear all things through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

Wdym by assignments?

Btw, what are your thoughts on using YouTube for my own personal foreign language studying, learning, and/or immersing? I’m not referring to material that’s a bad influence.

Also assuming my conscience is clear, the media won’t cause someone like sitting next to me to sin, and that I put God above it
EDIT: this comment was just extra things in addition to the one above

Sorry for all the replies, but

when I said, bad influence, I meant a bad influence to me personally :)

I would not concern yourself with much of spiritual warfare although it does affect us somewhat it's not our realm of things to concern ourselves with also I would recommend staying away from videos like
