Who here on CC is a son of a preacher man?
Just wondering if your dad read the Bible to you when you were little. Was it a bedtime story or did you go to school to learn it?

Serious answers only please.

If you are the daughter of a preacher man, you can share your experience too.

Nobody wants to share? Nobody here is an actual PK?
Or...NOBODY read the Bible with their parents at bedtime?

??

Nobody went to school? Or were you all homeschooled? There were no copies of the Bible at home?

I was both the son and grandson of Preacher Men. They read to all of us most evenings. And then especially if we did bad during the week would preach on things that seemed to be aimed directly at us. Very effective to keep us in check.

And yes, loved the song and sometimes it was eerily true.

Were you in the choir as well?
Are you now a Preacher Man too?

You don't have to say you love me, just be close at hand
You don't have to stay forever, I will understand

Believe me, believe me

Whosoever believes in me does not believe in me alone, but in the one who sent me

I and my Father are one...

Wow I cannot believe there is only ONE on the entire CC who replied to my post. You'd think there would be heaps of sons of preacher mens.

Or do they not even look in BDF. Maybe they are all on that other forum - Pastors and youth leaders. And they don't chat with ordinary non-preacher sons and daughters.

How snobby!

Yes, 6 of them and 3 daughters.
Amazing!
Did you read them the Bible as bedtime stories? I'd love to know
Did you have a special children's Bible with pictures or did you just get them to imagine the story for themselves?

I did read some CC BDF posters recall the Bible stories their parents read them or grew up with.

Some thought the forbidden fruit was an apple. I think they were confusing this with the poisoned apple in the Snow White fairy tale.

Apples wouldn't have really grown in the middle east or the garden of Eden at that time, well enough to fruit. It's a temperate climate tree ie. needs a winter. Which hadn't happened yet.

More likely a fig tree.
