It's true. We hardly ever get rain or clouds, but the last few years we got more than like the last 20 years combined. This year is very dry. We actually had two brush fires start a couple days ago. I think they've been put out already.
Interesting times we are living in :)

Yes we didn't have any for awhile until a couple days ago two broke out. We usually never have fires during the winter but this winter has been very dry. The grass on the hills here are usually green by december but they're still brown. I guess we're in a drought.

We have arrived as of December 29th in Jamestown Tennessee. Have been unpacking boxes ever since and yes, there are still more boxes and tubs to unpack.

I didn't realize that our smaller home had absolutely no storage, as in no basement, no garage, just an open carport, no shed and three tiny closets one in each bedroom. With a half closet out in the hall for towels and such. Not even a coat closet in the living room.... So needless to say we are in the process of buying a large shed that we have put a deposit on and just waiting for delivery to be able to put things such as Christmas decor, lawn mower, tools, garden supplies and our daughter's extra household items until she gets a job and finds her own place to live.

It has been snowing here but it doesn't stay long because it warms up and it melts. But it is beautiful to watch it fall and winter has a whole new meaning when you don't have to go to work and fight the elements to get there. So I watch the flakes fall in our nice warm home and enjoy the beautiful white stuff as it accumulates on the car and ground. Makes everything look clean and white and sparkles like diamonds when the sun hits it.

It is so nice not to be under the stress of finding a home and living in hotels and motels or staying with a family member during the 6 weeks between homes. Just the easy stuff like where do I put the dishes in the kitchen cabinets and which wall will this piece of art go on? Piece of cake when compared with stress of bank finances and finding a home when you don't have one anymore... I did learn a lesson though and that is I will never move across country professionally with a bunch of furniture it is way expensive and like buying the furniture a second time. It is better to sell it and buy on the other end and just rent a U-Haul for the household items and clothing.

So I'm loving the new home and the new much smaller town which has no traffic at all compared to the Tampa Bay Area we just left. The people have been so nice and friendly to us and still have manners as they will say excuse me in the store if they think they got in your way. I was a little shocked at first but it was and is a welcome surprise. The ya'lls and southern accents are charming and when we went to get our car registered in Tennessee it was a three person office down at the court house in the middle of town that once we have lived here long enough they will know our names and probably everything else we do since it is a small town... I am sure those Florida folks have already made some news about town since I still wear flip flops on all of my outings snow or not...

So we still are asking for prayers as we need them and I have missed not being on CC as much, but progress has been made and will try and get on a little more as we get more settled.... Hope you all had great holidays and ready for a new year. Continue to stay happy and healthy.

JL,
like your hub, you are for sure a gifted writer/poet/communicator -
hub and I Love you both so much!
we are elated that you are following God's map, which of course will always lead you where He wants you to be,
and as you both have shown, this takes great Courage/Confidence/Faith -
when we Love our Saviour first and foremost, we come to realize that our journey never ends at 'one place',
but just begins from the last one -
another stepping-stone that is continually leading us on/into His Holy Kingdom...
'Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven'.

Thank you. You should see how my nephew Brad writes. I keep waiting for him to write a book.

Tourist and our daughter, Melisa are not as fond of the small town as I am. I tried on several other homes in Tennessee and they kept getting taken away from us. But this one in Jamestown stuck and the church I am affiliated with is planning on building a new church in this town in May so maybe God wanted us here for that or to help build it with people.
