Hey, all.

I will be brutally honest here, and admit that even though I've been reading my One Year Bible, every night, I'm skipping the Old Testament parts. The main reason is that in all truth, I just find a lot of the OT to be extremely boring (hey, at least I'm not trying to hide my opinion). I've been taught so many of those events for most of my life - Noah's Ark, David & Goliath, David & Bathsheeba, Moses & the Jews in Eygpt, etc. But after a while, I just quit caring about a lot of the other details - for example, I don't care one bit about the measurements or necessary building materials for the Ark of the Covenant. I'm not Jewish, and I've never studied about or been to Israel, so why should those extremely detailed verses concern me? I'm not saying any of this out of contempt or hate for God (at least, I hope not). He's my Lord, my Savior, my Creator, and my Redeemer; I know there is no way I can ever make it through another day of my life without Him. I know He loves me, and I love Him too...but as for the entirety of His Word, that's another story.
At a glance it seems boring but looking deeper it contains the story of mankind, the Fall/sin, the genealogy of Jesus, and many of the stories like Lot & Jonah, foretell of Jesus the Christ. It's the background building up to the NT, as we all know and God's affection for the Jews and later grafting us all in as His offspring. I like how angel encounters are all through the Bible too.
Some pictures are quite fascinating like a young boy killing a giant with a sling shot, Noah's Ark, the arm of God over Joshua, Moses and so many other powerful depictions. I hear you though... I confess to doubling the speed at times when listening to my 1 Yr Bible read, lol.

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

Philippians 4:13 (KJV)

The strength we receive through our faith and obdience to God is all the strength we need to face the daily challenges of this world.

Deuteronomy 31:6 - Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Isaiah 41:10 - Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Deuteronomy 20:4 - For the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 - And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (Read More...)

Psalms 31:24 - Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.

Exodus 15:2 - The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him.

Since most threads seem to have trouble staying on topic I thought I would simply start one that has no topic and just see where it goes. So, in that vein, Speak Your Mind.
God just loves you and all others too'

1 John 2:1-4

Authorized (King James) Version

2 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2 and he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. 3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Whew!

Been a crazy week. Since last Wednesday, I have moved into my own apartment. Not easy in my condition, but I had very great help from my brother and two young men from MAU.

Not all unpacked yet, but getting there. Between moving, unpacking, Dr appointments, catscans, blood work, getting Internet turned on (just now) and changing my address it has been a whirlwind of activity and I surely feel it.

Thank God for pain meds, huh? :)

God has been so very good to me. This apartment is new, and the VA pays 70 percent of my rent. All electric, and I have to pay that, but, still. PRAISE GOD.

Hi to all I have not said Hi to in a week........and drink a couple extra cups of coffee in celebration.

God bless and keep you each and every one.

So, every week i get this Form Letter from Vehicle Services Division. I believe it is from Dodge Corporation, but it doesn't say who actually. Anyway, they are trying to sell me an extended warranty package on my vehicle, as mdoriginal warranty has expired.
Now, that isn't so weird, however the wording contained in the Letter continues to amuse me.

VERBATUM:

FINAL NOTICE!

Please call IMMEDIATELY as this will be our FINAL ATTEMPT TO NOTIFY YOU (then their phone number)
Ok, I'm thinking, well, since this is the FINAL TIME they will send me a Notice, I will simply not respond and they will stop sending me letters, right? Yeah, not so much. This is the TENTH letter I have received from them.

I'm wondering: Why would I believe a Company is reputable enough to purchase extended warranty from IF that Company does not even understand what the statement FINAL NOTICE means? Right?

Now, about once a week, I call them and listen to their spiel before I tell them the same thing... It's funny, but, for some reason, they don't laugh... Hmm.......
